Hope she didn't catch it from him. If he didn't have open sores at the time, she might not have it.

If she used a condom, she may have avoided contracting the virus. If she hasn't the only thing that she can do is try not to worry and let the thought of "what if" invade her life. If she has contracted herpes, then she will experience fluid filled blisters around or on her genitals which will be excrutiatingly painful and will last for approximately 3 weeks from first sign to completely healed. The blisters will then heal over without leaving scars. Subsequent outbreaks are less severe in most cases. If she does have an initial outbreak, she needs to go to a sexual health clinic immediately for an anti-viral prescription. The virus cannot be tested unless there are blisters present. There needs to be something there to be cultured.
A blood test after antibodies are built up in her system can also be used but bear in mind that the test doesn't distinguish between the Herpes I, which causes cold sores and genital Herpes.
If you are her parent or guardian and she speaks to you about her sexual experiences, then you need to educate her on the use of a condom. Never have sex with someone whom you don't know their sexual history without a condom. You cannot judge a person's sexual health by how they look.
If she is infected, she will need to use a condom every time she has sex. She will also need counselling - a part of sexual health so often overlooked.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

herpes simplex virus comes in 2 types, oral and genital. if she has no symptoms ( blistering, pain, redness, itching, pain when urinating) then she may not have contracted the virus. bothtypes can be transfered through kissing or oral sex. she may already have been exposed to the virusearlier in life, as most of us have, but been lucky enough not to develop symptoms. if unsure go get checked at a genito urinary clinic

She should get tested immediately.

If he gave herpes to her, then she should seek help from a personal injury attorney and take the jerk to court so he never does the same thing to anyone else who makes the mistake of trusting him.

Get tested & get preventative treatment until test results are available. Explaining safe sex proceedures is even more important now to prevent others from contracting this disease. Check with your local Health department to see if there is ant laws against having sex & knowingly spreading disease?

Get tested, get treatment if needed & dump the partner. Anyone who has sex with an STD and doesn't tell you before hand is only using you. They don't love or care about you.

Take her to the doctor tell him or her what has happened or tell her to go to a GUM clinic and take a test. dont panic just do that if she does (hopefully not) have this disease or infection she will be prescribed with whatever needed to clear it.

she goes 2 the doctors, asks 4 a check-up and from now on insists on having PROTECTED SEX, rather than find out afterwards.
it's a 50/50 chance whether she's caught it and only a doctor will b able 2 advise and treat her.
