First off, we're not people of color. We are African Americans. Some African Americans use the "n" word because they are just as ignorant as the word. Its disrepectful to our past generations and ancestors who have died for us because of this word. In my opinion, no one needs to use the word, white or black. We need to stop calling each other the word as well. How do we expect everyone else to stop using it when the race it degrades uses it the most?

I think so too. People of color can call themselves and others that, but let a white person say it and it is the end of the world! Which by the way I hate that word and do not use it!

I am black (born in the us) and I don't use that word, neither do people in my family. The only time I have heard it used was by white people where I live (I live in an upper middle class suburb of Detroit)

I don't hear people of color using it. It's a word of hate, regardless of the color of the speaker. If you're hearing it used, just start hanging out with different people.
