About a quarter of the words in the dictionary are from either Norman French or Standard French.
HOWEVER, only about 10% of the words in a normal stretch of everyday speech are from French. About 10% are from other languages. And about 80% are from our Germanic Anglo-Saxon ancestry. We have lots of "furreners" that we keep locked in our dictionaries, but our everyday language is 80% GERMANIC.

Old french or current French?
Too many words to count. The norman conquests of england had a significant effect on the english language and many words are still in use.
Howmany words? too many to probably count.
Trouble is if Old french was spoken most french speakers probably wouldnt recognise it.
Unlike French English is an evloving language and is the most spoken over the globe close up is spanish.
Dont even know how the french got a vote in the UN , bloody surrender monkeys!

I don't know, but thumbs up to "I know truth is mine", ahahah!!!
Now, talking seriously: I remember listening to a BBC radio documentary over the origin of English words and it showed some figures. When I get home I'll look it up at my "Favourites" and I'll come here to post the link. I hope you don't mind waiting!
Sorry for any mistake, my check spelling is set for Portuguese...
