What are good recipes? Does anyone know of any special ways to package the treats? How much or how big a box can be sent? Is there any regulations on what can be sent?

I am shipping to France, from there the package will go to an undisclosed Middle Easter country from the United States.

My sister use to send me cookies when I was in Korea and the method she used then was to pack them in tins using REAL Popcorn. The cookies did come a bit better but still some got broken. Hopefully today they handle those packages marked Fragile a bit more better today. Back in the 50"s I think they use to play foot ball with them before we got them.

The first thing to remember is to NOT send alcohol. 1) it's against the law to send alcohol thru the US Postal Service, 2) deployed soldiers are not allowed to have alcohol.

The rest is easy. Your favorite cookie/candy recipe, then stuff the goodies in zip lock bags, or vacuum sealed bags. Stuff some type of cushioning material in the box to protect the goodies and send it off. The USPS has limits on box sizes, but that's mainly for really HUGE boxes.

Good for you. It's nice to think of others during the holiday season, especially those who can't be with their families.

Check with the post office. They have printed suggestions they can give you.
