for particular the human soul is immortal. that's of course considered in lots of Scriptures in the two the previous and New Testaments: Psalm 22:26; 23:6; 40 9:7-9; Ecclesiastes 12:7; Daniel 12:2-3; Matthew 25:40 six; and a million Corinthians 15:12-19. Daniel 12:2 says, “Multitudes who sleep in the airborne dirt and mud of the earth will conscious: some to eternal existence, others to shame and eternal contempt.” further, Jesus Himself mentioned that the wicked “will flow away to eternal punishment, however the righteous to eternal existence” (Matthew 25:40 six). With the comparable Greek word used to consult with the two “punishment” and “existence,” this is obvious that the two the wicked and the righteous have an eternal/immortal soul. The unmistakable coaching of the Bible is that each and all and sundry human beings, regardless of if or no longer they're saved or lost, will exist endlessly, in the two heaven or hell. real existence or non secular existence would not stop whilst our fleshly bodies bypass away in dying. Our souls will stay perpetually, the two in the presence of God in heaven if we are saved, or in punishment in hell if we reject God’s present of salvation. in certainty, the promise of the Bible is that no longer in basic terms will our souls stay perpetually, yet additionally that our bodies would be resurrected. This wish of a actual resurrection is on the very heart of the Christian faith (a million Corinthians 15:12-19). jointly as all souls are immortal, this is taken into consideration necessary remember that we are no longer eternal in the comparable way that God is. God is the sole rather eternal being in that He on my own is and not employing a beginning or end. God has consistently existed and could consistently stay to tell the story. All different sentient creatures, regardless of if or no longer they're human or angelic, are finite in they had a beginning. jointly as our souls will stay perpetually as quickly as we come into being, the Bible would not help the theory that our souls have consistently existed. Our souls are immortal, as this is how God created them, yet they did have a beginning; there became a time they did no longer exist. So what i'm asserting is jointly as Jesus soul is immortal purely as we are, we are diverse in the element that his became eternal, it had no beginning, this is many times been there.

Good question. Our 'souls' are NOT "immortal".
The Hebrew word NEPHESH means ' that which breathes".
We can only breathe when we are alive.
So our 'souls' are us, breathing.
humans seek immortality because God has promised us a life without death.

(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

The word immortality in this instance is referring to incorruption. See 1 Cor 15; 53-54.

The soul is immortal. The issue is where we will spend eternity. I think the verses before Romans 2:7 and after explain this.

The soul is indeed mortal.
You can throw in Ezekial 18:4

The soul is immortal in the sense that it will never cease to exist. you misunderstand what death is, death is separation, physical death is the separation of the soul from the body. The second death is eternal separation from God which is identical to the lake of fire.

The question is where do you want to spend your immortality? The glory of heaven or in hell - with the second death (eternal seperation from God)

I believe that the Romans passage needs to be put into context. You would also have to study the original Greek to find the actual meaning of the passage.

It says To them who by patient continuance in well doing "seek"
for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

See that? Key word is "seek".....it is not saying we are immortal now, it says who are seeking. Got it?
