you had to go and make me feel guilty, Azra :(
**i do see food as a blessing but i am definitely guilty of wasting it. i've always thought of giving it to a homeless shelter...... but i suppose i've never got the initiative to actually do that.
inshallah your question will motivate me to take action
God bless you for your consciousness and peace to all
Sakina

Yes, I truly believe that the food we are able to buy is a blessing for my family. We do not throw food away, and we do eat plenty of leftovers. I try to extend the food for my family for a couple of meals and lunches, and if there happens to be a little extra meat but not enough for everybody, than that is where I have to be creative and make a casserole with it.

I have a strict rule in my house, as i plan exactly what i need to buy every week for groceries and what ever is not eaten, will be eaten at the next meal whether it be for lunch or tea. Though i do work for a fast food company and it makes me sick to my stomach of the food that gets thrown out on a daily basis in my store alone, food that i would still eat myself, but apparently due to health and safety regulations we ourselves aren't even allowed take anything away from the store.

I only cook what is needed so I rarely have leftovers. If by chance I do have some leftovers, I take them the next day for my lunch at work or I give them to my two dogs & two cats.

I see food as a blessing. Unless it goes bad I do not throw it way. I try not to have leftovers but some times it happens and then I eat them the next day or two for lunch.

I cannot stand to waste food. Leftovers are for lunch. Only thing I've thrown out is something I may have severely burnt! Yes, I see it as a blessing.

Of course it is a blessing! Just ask those that know real hunger , those that may not have eaten in weeks!
Throw it away ? No way!
Lets talk turkey.
There is turkey dinners, turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, turkey stir fry, turkey pot pie, turkey hash over toast, and when there is nothing left but the bones and carcass, put it in a big pot , fill 1/2 way with water add salt ,pepper a few carrots, onion, garlic celery and you have turkey soup!!!

Food is a blessing for me and my family. We keep the leftovers and thank god that we are eating well and that he is taking care of us.

Left overs are saved, I have left overs here with me for my lunch, I dont make that much money, I have to save what I can and make it last, it's not like I can afford to "eat out" all the time ya know
