Digestion involves the mixing of food, its movement through the digestive tract, and the chemical breakdown of the large molecules of food into smaller molecules. Digestion begins in the mouth, when we chew and swallow, and is completed in the small intestine. The chemical process varies somewhat for different kinds of food.

a regular size meal takes around 4-7 hours to digest to digest completely
though a major part of the meal is digested in 4 hours
however
the size of the meal is not the only thing that matters
the posture you attain after having the meal is equally important
if you sleep immediately after eating the process takes longer
a similar thing happens if you exercise after eating
this is because a majority of your blood supply is unavailable for digestion
also
what also matters is the nature of the food
if you have taken a plenty of salad before the meal , digestion might also complete in just 3hours or even less
this is because salad or raw fruits and vegetables enhance the enzyme activity of our stomach
according to your question i think you should practice or run early in the morning when your stomach is absolutely empty
still if you want to know other times when you can work out
i think you should keep a gap of at least 4 hours after your meal

Completely digested would be 17-24 hours. Digested so that it is out of the stomach is 1 -3 hours depending on the volume of food you ate and how greasy it is.

for digestion answer. However, you should wait an hour and a half at least after eating, depending on the size of the meal, before you start to do any form of exercise and so you don't get cramps.
