Oh you just happened to see a pigions amputated foot, how did this happen, did you do it, wanker.

The poor hungry creature probably didn't know it was eating a pigeons foot. They are not cannibals in that they rush off with hatchets to smite down their lunch, but when hungry they will pick up whatever is going, be it seed or flesh, and eat it to stay alive.

No they are not cannibals. I'm pretty sure they are seed/grain eaters although in the towns they seem to eat anything - old McDonalds etc.
Maybe it was just interested in the amputated foot.
Why was the foot amputated? Surely the person who took it off - humanely i trust - should have cleared it up.

Most birds will eat anything. People think they're nice and sweet and just eat grain and stuff. Not true. They will eat meat and each other if necessary. Even chickens will eat cooked chicken. Why was the foot amputated?

No. It was doing a kind of pigeon first aid and pecking out from the wound any maggots or parasites that had settled on it.
Animals do help one another, for instance dogs lick each other's wounds.

I thought they were veggies but I put out cat food for the raven that visits my roof and the pigeons just ate it up.Guess they just eat anything.
Speaking of which when I was in China people ate chickens' feet deep fried.
Guess that's their equivalent of pork scratchings

I had a pigean getting eaten by a eagle or something. Thought it was dead so i didn't bother going out, thought it was natural, survival of the fitest ann all that. Something scared the big bird and then the pigean tryed to fly. the pigean was just pretending to be dead. Don't think it got far. it had bits missing

well if the pigion was eating an amputated foot then obiously that pidgion was a cannibal but mostly i dont think they are ....maybe you just saw a special pigion.
