A salad without dressing is just that - no dressing (mayo, French dressing, Italian dressing, vinaigrette etc). Salads without dressing can be bland and tasteless depending on the salad ingredients.
Some dressings are loaded with fat and taste wonderful.
There are heaps of "Fat Free" salad dressings of all flavours available these days. They normally have Fat free on the front label and if you look at the rear or side of the bottle it will tell you how many grams of fat there is per serve, it should also tell you the amount of calories, salt (sodium), and all the other ingredients in the bottle.
I love the fat free dressings and use them all the time on all sorts of things (not just salads), you just have to watch the sodium content as some are very high in salt.

Actually, dressing is SUPRISINGLY fattening...it sucks hey, just when you think you're eating all healthy cos you're eating salad...there's all those hidden calories in dressing! and I LOVE dressing! If you, like me, can't eat salad without dressing here are a few hints: avoid the creamy ones: they're the most fattening! Avoid mayo or salad cream. Rather have balsamic vinegar and even a splash of olive oil if you can't do the balsamic on its own (its takes a while to get used to it!). that's the healthiest.

ofcourse the veggies will taste plain, but there must be a reason for having a salad without dressing.in time one gets used to plain veggies,a dash of lemon juice or chopped herbs add variety without making a mess of the calorie count .

Some times that's a sprits of something or some light olive oil.
Some people consider the more oil looking dressings to not count. (Isn't Italian like that?)
Places like to put something on Salads before people put their Salad dressing on.

You should read the labels. They will tell you how much is considered a
serving. Usually just 1 tablespoon. It will also tell you how many calories,
fat to a serving. I heard that apple cider vinegar helps lose weight. I put
a dash on my salad for taste, then salt and pepper. I have a shaker of
Cajun spice that I use sometimes too. It has no calories, just taste.

I like vegtables without all the gunk poured on them. It has nothing to do with being fattening. I just like the taste of veggies.

yeah, i think dressing is really fattening. but i've never eaten dressing, i think its gross, i'm picky. depends on what your salad is made of as to how it will taste. find some other way to make it interesting.
