I'm sure you've been to your vet & got Frontline? It's about the best & ensures their lifecycle is interrupted so they won't live & breed. Otherwise ask your vets advice

you cannot have tried "everything" otherwise you would not have a flea problem. It sounds as though you have tried most of the stuff for sale in the pet shop or supermarket which is why you still have the problem. These products don't work. They are on sale to make the company's lots of money as people buy this, then that, then something else in desperation. Had you gone you your vet (most do a free fela consultation) and bought some 'stronghold' drops for your dog and put them on the back of his neck without fail every month for 3 months, your flea problem would be cleared up by now at the cost of around £20. Not only that, the dog will be clear or ticks, mange mites, ear mites AND worms. All from those easy to use drops on the back of the neck. Make a vet appointment now for the flea treatment.
I and all of my animal keeping friends, stopped using frontline 2 years ago when the fleas developed a tolerance to it and we were all over run with them. Besides, frontline won't kill earmites and worms and mange. Stronghold is the best but your vet may not stock it. They get a bigger profit margin from frontline so that's what they recommend. They will however order it in for you if you tell them that this is what you want to use.

O poor you! Nightmare isnt it. I found a flea on my little Yorkie last night. This morning he had bath with flea shampoo, inspection by strict flea control person (me!), all bedding washed, flea powder everywhere etc. Hope that will do it as it's winter but in the summer i had to get advice from the vet. Apparently over the counter stuff is no good and you have to pay a fortune at the vet's but the stuff does work!
Although we all like hedgehogs maybe it would be an idea if you could get advice and see if you can deter them from coming in your garden somehow.
Good luck! I dont think there is anything one can do except try and keep on top of the problem.

Go to your vets and ask for Frontline or Stronghold or Advantage.
Follow the application instructions carefully.
They are adulticide (kill adult fleas) flea treatments which permeate into your dog's skin providing 4 weeks protection against flea infestation.
Petshop, supermarket treatments are not as effective and shampoos and powders can cause contact allergies and make the situation worse.
Always check with your vet that it def is a flea problem and not allergic/skin disease or mange. Mange is mite infestation and can be transmitted by hedgehogs too.

Fleas hate pine oil, spray your garden with a pine oil solution. You can even put pine branches in your garden to keep them out. I had an Uncle that bred coon dogs when I was a child, he put soft pine needles in their boxes to keep the fleas away. It worked for him. That was before all of these products were on the market. He would spray a pine oil and water solution on his carpets and furniture also, wiped down counters and other hard surfaces. He also mopped his floors. He has been gone many years now but, every time I smell it I think of him. Neither him or his dogs ever had fleas.

hi there
Though a preventative such as Advantage® , Frontline® , Revolution®, or K9 Advantix® is the best way to treat and prevent fleas,go to the vet and ask for it or walmart has the similar products it's drops that u put on the back of the dog's neck it the fleas bite the dog and die... even the dogs dander that falls off the fleas in ur house they will eat and die if u don't want to go that way then u can use Brewer's Yeast and garlic prove to keep them away, as well and i have use both for many yrs and they both are very good also use Advantage® and works great..

Bath your pet in the Dawn dish washing liquid, this will kill all fleas, and try spraying your lawn with a flea killer,or sprinkle some sevin dust on lawn. You can also put the 3 % sevin dust on your pet for fleas and ticks. For the interior of your home, would suggest bombing it for fleas, and also you can put the Advantage drops on your pet,it is a once a month flea preventative purchased by weight at any vet clinic.

If you have hedgehogs in your garden then unfortunatly your dog will never get shot of fleas. You can spend loads on flea treatment but won,t solve the problem. My German shepherd had the same problem (from one hedgehog), he had an allergic reaction to the fleas and it cost me thousands to try and cure him. Do you feed your dog outside? coz hedgehogs like dog food.

Their are a lot of "spot on" treatments for fleas. tho they work for most dogs, some dogs have a different skin types, just like people. Go to your vet and ask them about the "star" shot. I'm not exactly sure what the full name of it is but it is a shot they give dogs and it INSTANTLY kills all fleas. They literally drop like flies. No Joke. Some vets will not do it unless it is a last resort. But if you have tried everything else give that a shot.

Absolute nightmare isnt it. It took ages for my Border terrier to get rid. I take your dog has short hair anyway, otherwise i would reccomend getting him clipped.
Get some frontline from the vets. Treat him at a friend or relatives house that does not have animals and let him stay there for a day. Gut the whole house/car/furnishings with a special spray you also buy from the vets for carpets, is about £17, but works great.
open all the curtains and turn on all the lights. Fleas HATE the light, it kills them.Leave the house.
Bring him back later on and give him a garlic capsule once a week on his food.
Is a ballache all this, but it worked for us! Good luck x

The Vet can give a shot. Also there is a treatment that pours on the skin that works. Also there is some stuff that comes in a hose sprayer to spray the yard and foliage.
