St Peter was annointed by God to be the symbol of church creation stronghold.
Due to many centuries past, many leaders & member`s mind, rules and regulations involved, different traditions, cultural blending...so St Peter`s essence of teaching/preaching/ intentions coming directly from Jesus Christ principle...may differ from todays practice.
You may say, what Jesus Christ meant to tell before may not be the same meaning as today`s proclamation from the church.
What the heck!
As long as a believer knows what He is doing and affiliate/relate well to God who will never change until the end of time, so, why not hang on to God, don`t care people/human elements because it might disappoint/frustrates you... in your walk with God.

It was not Peter, it was Paul of Tarsus.
Peter was a simple fisherman, and seems to have stayed a modest person all his live.
Paul was a Scholar, well versed in the Jewish scriptures, and also a talented "sophist" and speaker.
He did not build the Catholic church either, that was actually the Roman emperor Constantine when he made Christianity the state religion in his empire.
But Paul laid the ground work alright, and it was he who made Christianity into the mysogenist religion it is today.

Hi Binchy! Simon Peter was dubbed by Christ as the "Rock" upon which He would build His church. He loved Peter because he was so human. Peter, or Petra means rock. Peter is the foundation of every Christian church. Catholic means Universal.
In Latin we all testify Credo Deume Patrim Omnipototum ( meaning We Believe in God The Father Almighty........).
The Apostles Creed! Hope this answers your question?

i substitute into raised catholic and went to Protestant and Evangelical church homes for years. there are a number of respectable human beings in those places and in some techniques its solid they exist because of the fact they do provide some human beings a flavor of a relationship with God. whether the real faith as practiced with the aid of the apostles is what the Church (Catholic) does today. Spouting some theories which you have or heard on the Catholic Church in basic terms exhibits how dumb and misinform human beings somewhat are. i'm completely suggested approximately Evengelicals etc, i'm able to argue twenty differing viewpoints using the bible on my own. I even have on the grounds that come back to the actual church and guess what Jesus is there!!

That's a good question. Christianity in general followed Paul more than Peter. In fact anything that was against Paul was banned outright.

You not have been to a catholic church before or need to get to know the whole details. Simon peter is not the founder of Catholic Church neither is he the founder of any church, Christ is. Christ himself appointed Simon peter as a leader to the church saying that he builds his church on his faith and on the spirit of God which spoke in him. After the departure of Christ, Simon peter became the first leader of the then Christina (POPE). Even before Saul was converted to be called Paul, The Christians had been spreading. Few communities accepted them; they were doing things the way and how much they learned from Christ viewing Peter as their father in faith. Paul came into the church and used his political ability strength and education to modify the teachings…check out the teaching on fornication, marriage…ECT. There was no name for churches, the churches were known by the city where they are, about seven or so cities accepted church in their land. What Paul did was to encourage them; yes the spirit of God arrested him but those apostles that walked and worked with Christ knew what he taught them more than Paul. The church couldn’t have been able to hold if doctrines didn’t come in to make some hard spiritual matter understandable to the followers, such doctrines are what you said you have not found in the bible but its man’s way of approaching God. Even the Old Testament, from Noah to the last amongst the old, they had their own ways of approaching God according to must the bible was wrote and many more were not mentioned. God is a supernatural being; he directs the heart and has no specific tagged way of fellowship. It’s confusion that led man into doubting the teaching of the church.

Time passed and churches were getting larger, finding it even harder to excel if not the promise of Christ that the kingdom of hell shall never prevail. There came a time in the Roman Empire a strong nation (I won’t mention) prepared to war against it. All they believed in as powers, both physically and spiritually were afraid to face a war they thought would destroy the whole empire. This is how the head quarters of the church formed in Rome. The Christian of then were filled with faith and power, the zeal to see the church wax is what rang in them unlike the greed that’s ringing in those weak humans of now that claim to be Christian. With faith and prayers, the church prophesied war triumph to the Romans and the daunted Emperor had no choice than to give a chance to anyone with solution. Seen the strength in the heart of Christians, the Emperor promised that he and his entire kingdom were going to be converted into the household of Christ if the church would make them win the war. This is the first place across was used…in the olden days, Elisa used his masters clothe to part Jordan, Moses used a staff to form snake…ect. So this time they used a memorial sign of their Lord’s agony to conquer the heathen. It was very unbelievable to see the story of Jericho repeating in Rome, thus the Emperor after the war mandated his kingdom to leave their way worship and follow the Christians’ way. This is where the name Catholic came in, the church in Rome became large and populated than the rest of the churches in other cities…(the name catholic means majority) and was given due to the population of the church, so other churches started to address the church in Rome with Catholic (Majority) church in Rome…now called Roma Catholic…

The people of Rome didn’t find if easy abandoning their status that they already worshiped as gods. They were just under the law of their king. Some of them whom understood the real meaning of spiritualism went to the church leaders to appeal, saying that it isn’t proper to force them into a belief. The church elders reasoned with them and took their petition to their king pleading his to let those that appreciate the miracle alone join the church, but the king said he could never go back to his words…not to ensure peace, this pagans of Rome pleaded that the church should allow them come in with their status… (What a contradiction?) but then the spirit of God was there again to lead. After praying and fasting, the leaders of the church in Rome according to the spirit of God which was in them were directed to make something similar to what this people worship but memorize the past saints with such instead of the heroes, queens and gods the Romans looked up to them to be. This was done and the pagan Romans found peace, yet they were taught to forget their old incantations and call on the saints instead of the idols, thus teaching them to open their mind to God alone and think of those men and women whom had ran a good run for the kingdom of God instead of the idols and past worldly rulers they were believing to be gods…

This worked out fine and the church was large and peaceful. The Emperor also gave a huge piece of land to the Christian to build…(this is where a big church was first build and is now called the Vatican city) I have a lot more to say on this….
