God made human specially in His likeness and image and provide "holy" spirit with each one. He made human to rule over other creations in this world.
Inspite of this announcement of God, if you insist on downgrading human kind then it is just your level of intellect in question.
Though animals have the instinct in recognizing the Supreme Creator but not as distinct as humankind.
When God willed it, God can talk to them and instruct an animal by His power.
