I think so. We are given these bodies that constantly entice us to lust after sin and we are told to do good. What are your thoughts on this?

garrett w - thanks for your support on that other question. I agree with you except I'm not sure Mohammad commanded them all to be terrorists. I don't know much about Islam. But that question is what spurred me to ask this one. You were right.

I usually think of it as a battle ground....but testing ground is right, too.

The real test or the real battle is in our minds, isn't it? If our hearts are given to God and our minds are focused on Him, loving Him, obeying Him, then the pull of sin loses its power over us. (romans 12: 1 & 2)

We become more than conquerors through Christ and we can live uprightly in a very lustful wicked world.

But I am so thankful that Jesus Himself taught us to pray "Lead us not into temptation". We can pray to our Father and He gives us help as we walk through our day....

God bless you and good morning!!

How do we know EXACTLY what is good and evil. The terms that we know of today are different than what they were thousands of years ago. Changed by religion mainly christianity those are the new "good" and the new "evil" example - sleeping with a girl- back then 14 year old got pregnant and it wasnt evil today it seems to be worse than killing someone. In our minds we also have to figure out our own definition of good and evil. And my best advice is just to listen to what your heart tells you because whenever you do something you do get a certain feeling inside of you and its up to you to control how you act based upon that.

I KNEW THIS WOULD TURN RELIGIOUS

It is not - it just a planet.

What you call lusting over sin is a man made concept.

We follow basic biological urges most of the time and because we have devloped a conscience and some understanding of our actions and surrounding we are able to invent sins to stop us acting in an animal way.

The basis of good behavior differs from person to person and culture to culture. It also varies from generation to generation so really there is no definition of what good behavior is or what is a sin, so really your question is a little bit pointless. Just an excuse for people to 'praise the lord in his greatness and wisdom' 'God loves you blah blah'

Wow, just looking around an seen that you posted a very good question because I also like you answer to the muslim religion question. It is temptation Island! Not with just bodies but propaganda, religious beliefs being used for personal benefit and the exploitation of those that will easily follow.

No, it's not a choice between good or evil. I have never met an evil human being in my life; I have met sick human beings--people with severe mental problems that cause them to do things they really don't want to do. Nobody is born evil, it may seem it when you're so constantly exposed to what's on the television, but have you really ever met anybody evil? Really? It's not a choice, it's conviction. Conviction and courage to not fall apart no matter how hard life hits you. Nobody chooses to be evil, some people are just beaten.

it is the best testing ground......if it were not, Allah would not judge us in the after life.

U have the reason and u have the desire....... U were not let alone without knowing the right....... i think that u heard something about islam......did not u?

In fact, to be a good muslim is like a straight way with doors at each sides......each door has a cover on it......... if u entered any of these doors u will miss the straight way......

OK? u are told the right......but u have the choice ...either to succeed in that test life or to fail....and enjoy your short life leaving the endless after life behind u........ Select your way.....u have the reason.......u are not a toy..........!!!!! a muslim engineer

Yes, you are given the free will of choice by God to select good or evil

Read the verses from the Holy Bible

Deuteronomy 30:15
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Eze 33:11 Say unto them, [As] I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

May God bless you and reveal his will in you. In Jesus name. Amen

this is very true. god brought su into this world in other to come and serve him and keep his commandments. he also gave us the will to choose our own wish. therefore this world world is full of evil and is left for you to choose between what is evil and what is right. i hope all the religions in the world today beleive that one day we will die and after that face judgement from our maker. thus what you do on this earth wil determine your future infront of your creator when you die. it is better for us therefore, to choose what is good and avoid what is evil in other to forstall our future assurance when we are not on this earth anymore.

who decides what is a sin, if our bodies are constantly enticing us, surely this tells you something, maybe its natural to be enticed and maybe theres nothing wrong with that, just some prudish old people who decided that its a sin.

The whole world is lying in Satan's hands but we are not ignorant of his tactics hence it is a choice one makes.
