Jehovah's Witnesses both witness personally and bear witness to others regarding God's personal name, his majestic personality, and Kingdom purposes. In doing so, they align themselves with Jesus Christ and the prophets.
(Isaiah 43:10) “You are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah
(Isaiah 43:12) So you are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I am God.
(Hebrews 12:1-2) Because we have so great a cloud of [Jehovah's] witnesses surrounding us, let us also put off every weight and the sin that easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, as we look intently at the Chief Agent and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus
(Revelation 1:5) Jesus Christ, “the Faithful Witness”
(Acts 5:38,39) Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, You may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”

My understanding is that we should witness to others what Jesus did for us. To tell people about the message of the bible. God wants all his children to realise he loves them and to have a relationship with Him. So for us that understand this - we can tell this to others (which is actually a lot more difficult than it sounds). We try to witness as much as we can without being overboard but Satan deceives people and closes their minds and hearts to hearing about the good news of God. It is only until people start searching themselves and open their hearts and minds to God that they can find salvation.

We are told to be witnesses when we are baptized with the Holy Spirit with power (Acts 1:8). From this scripture God intends us to witness not only His truth and what He has done for us but also to demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit in our witnessing. True Christian witnessing therefore comes with the power of God according to this scripture.

Witnessing means a combination of things :
1. It could mean merely telling the truth .
2. It means telling others about the good news : which is Christ came to earth and redeemed everyone of their sins....
And we must believe that He is the Son of God and pray to Him with repentance for our sins!

witnessing in the bible means to represent true facts before all to decide for themselves whether they will take what you are presenting with or not. For instance if God said you are my witnesses it means that true Christians would be able to represent God's true personality and great qualities in opposition to those who misrepresent his great qualities through false teachings.

It means to tell people what you have seen as an act of god .
This is merely their belief that god did this .
They did not actually see god ,just some kind of twist of fate.
The things they see are mostly 50/50 chances of something going right instead of wrong. They accredit this to a god.
