You're asking about authentication of the bible? I believe The Original Holy Bible in its language is the most authentic, mostly the Bible in its own language today come from copied letter (because the original already demolish?). You can see the version of the Bible because there's a different language translation (e.g from Greek to English version), the Grammar of Greek and Hebrew have a lot tense than English. So the different in Version or Edition is more on precision of translation/intepretation. I choose NIV for the most precision Bible and easy to be interpret. Hopefully it could help you

The original Hebrew (for the Old Testament) and Greek (for New Testament) manuscripts are the most authentic.

You can find copies of these actual scanned manuscripts online.

Won't help understand how to live wisely/well unless you knew Hebrew and Greek.

And according to the bible, the author - Gods' Spirit in us, is also who we need to understand the bible. Who He gives freely to those who ask Him.

The most literal translations (word for word) can lose meaning. And be hard to read/understand. But are very good for private in-depth study.

A common literal translation is the King James (KJV). So is the New American Standard (NASB).

Some ancient sayings can't be translated that way - and the nearest equivalent phrase just is'nt close enough to the original sense it carried. Anyone who is bi-lingual will have come across this.

That's why there are dynamic translations. They go for nearest meaning for meaning. and are easier for reading aloud in service/groups. They give the maximum understanding of a verse/passage.

A popular dynamic translation is the New International Version (NIV)

All translations lose something in the translation.

Each important word in the bible has been given a number (Strong's Numbers) which correspond to the original word in the original manuscript it came from. So the correct meaning can be found from the source.

The most popular version is the New International Version ( by number copies sold). It carries a lot of the beauty and power as well as depth. Used to be that King James did that but certain older English words can affect it's reading /understanding.

THE ORIGINAL TEXT. Obviously, you can find interlinear Bibles which have the original language on one side, and the English translation on the other. I personally recommend the Nestle-Aland version, or since it is rare and hard to find, the Schofield New American Standard version by the Lockman Foundation. Sounds like you want to be a serious student, Give Berachah Church. org a try, very intensive original language studies for free.

The "King James" version is the best we have. I did have a 16th century copy of the Bible but it was in old English grammar and I could hardly understand it. But King James was the first English king to allow the scriptures to be printed and read in the church in the English grammar, thus it's name.

New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures. It restores God's personal name to its proper place in the Bible.
