Ask the following: optometrists, Red Cross, radio stations, tv stations, your city's Parks & Rec. Dept., Boys/Girls Club, Campfire, Scouts, Jr. League, University Students within their religious depts. or non religious / clubs and church organizations and Printing Businesses.
Asking them for their support: financial, material, and/or name. Provide them with your plan: Your objective, Your goal, who camp benifits, location, expense: free or cost per entry, who is involved. Offer them free publicity on all fliers and commercial ads. When asking doctors to provide "free" service, advice them, that their name or business will be printed on everything, which can bring more business in their near future. The camp can be in a park, campground, or even in a church, that's why you should ask all the names listed above. If you get someone from the Junior League / Country Club Environment, they can provide you with alot of names and clout. But, they're schedule is limited, because of all the fundraising they do. If you ask the media, be sure to be prepared and offer them the same publicity or ask for a big discount on all the comercials Asking the same from the Printers big discounts on their ads, if they won't offer free services.
Another route, would be, to ask all the above names for their assistance, but, also ask for a entry fee. Informing them that the entry fee would go towards the cost of running the camp.
Would there be a cost to participate in the camp? FREE / $5.00 or $10.00 per person
You can also ask more or the same organizations to be sponsors for the client, if they are unable to pay.
What will you offer at your camp?
Have different Booths offerring different medical treatments.
Free eye exams... or... free blood work... or... free check ups
You can turn your camp into a carnival setting, cowboy setting, water park setting, or just a regular camp setting...
In any setting, you will need colorful balloons, colorful signs, streamers, games, music, food & drinks, snacks, giveaways, etc..
What age will your camp target? young, teens, middle age, elderly... every setting will have to be set up for their age level.
Write everything down... objective, goal, participants, expenses, location, publicity and who is the main person or organization in charge of the activity.
GOOD LUCK ... IT CAN BE DONE... BUT, IT TAKES TIME...
IT'S FOR A GOOD CAUSE... IT CAN BE DONE, IT WILL BE DONE...
