Everyone with a faith should not just believe blindly what someone told them or what has been passed down to them. All beliefs should be supported with scripture and in that way we are getting God's viewpoint and not the viewpoint of men

2 Timothy 3:16,17

Philosophies are the ideas from men

Well it was pointed out quite forcefully to me by a Christian that (quote) "Christianity is not philosophy" when I suggested that I may choose to be a Zen Buddhist if I were religious....
Even though I tried to explain that the Bible is full of philosophical writing, I was 'shot down in flames'...
I believe the issue is belief and critical analysis. Critical analysis of the Bible and religion is not encouraged at 'End User Level' ... the man/woman attending services... as this may encouraging too many questions that the religious teacher cannot answer...
Belief in everything the Bible and religion says is encouraged, with the understanding that should such teachings be questioned.. it will be the Devil or his agent doing the questioning.. thus discouraging questioning.
As for questioning their own faith... that's the Devil again.. hence the discouraging (again) of such things
Christians and other faiths.. the point of questioning, critical analysis and debate is to confirm or deny the existence of anything.. the theory of evolution included... Don't be afraid of it... embrace it and without quoting the scriptures... make your point based upon empirical evidence and knowledge.

Friend there has NOT been one question asked that I was not able to answer, Those questions that is put here that is non Christian questions, I don't bother to answer, but when it comes to the bible, No one has asked anything that I could not answer. I am not afraid to question my Faith, Because the Bible says to study thyselve to see if you be in the Truth, & to make myself a living sacrifice, Holy & acceptable to God. Any questions you have, let them roll.

Because, for the faithful, those questions do not exist. Their faith is their epistemology. It simultaneously creates, defines, explains, and justifies their beliefs as knowledge and truth. For them, there are no epistemological issues because belief is knowledge and knowledge is belief. From that perspective, your questions are, at best, silly. They do not understand why you are asking something anymore than you do not understand why they do not (or cannot) answer.

Thomas Aquinas once wrote that, while the truths of Christianity cannot be proved rationally, the arguments AGAINST them can be proven to be wrong. Rationally.
