I hope you are kidding. But yeah, I hear it will keep people alive like some USA war troops in World war II, but it is first a horrid thought to do to a pony, and second, a pet pony. And finally, as someone pointed out, selling it to a good home will get you more money.
As a farmer type once said to me
Some animals are for eting, Others for petting.
Some for eting can become pets, but only under starvation, the other way round.
If you get too hard up I know what will become of all the neigbor's cats. Just tell you daughter that it is Otter.

Many people eat horse meat, however I would sell the pony and use the money for the family. Also, if you decide to kill the pony and eat it, don't tell your child what she's eating. She'll be upset about the meal and with you for a long time

It is too obvious that you are pulling our legs, but if it gives you a kick (which is what I would like the horse to do to you) so what.
The sale of horsemeat for human consumption in the UK is not legal, the slaughter of most animals for human consumption is governed by law, so you can't kill it yourself.
Horse meat is eaten in many countries not just France and has a slightly sweeter flavour than beef and a lower fat content as well which is why bacon or lard is often added to the receipes.

yes but u dont get much money for a carcass and they have a horrible death. Why dont u sell the pony to another family. U will get a lot more money and your daughter will still be able to visit her pony and see he is happy and well looked after. Try advertising in Horse and Hound or your local newspaper

It is slightly sweet, tender, low in fat, and high in protein.[1] Horse meat has about 40% fewer calories than even the leanest beef, while supplying 50% more protein and up to 30% more iron.
Horse meat has had somewhat of a resurgence in popularity in Europe and Canada in recent years, as horses are not susceptible to BSE (mad cow disease). As with beef and pork, in some societies there is a taboo regarding the consumption of horse meat.

Yes but its illegal in Britain, you need to move to Germany
Hi Juicy P.
I think its time you got a life and started speaking to people the way you would want to be spoken to. I lived in Germany and they do eat horse meat there so maybe you should get your facts right before slagging other off. Nice to know there are such low lifes here.
Thanks for making my day!

Well...I'm sure horse is edible but one problem though...horse are made to run free and they love running. That means...the meat will be really tough unless u got strong teeth. Good luck trying!

Yeah why don't you bring her out to hold the bucket under it's neck while you slit it's throat. You can then bring her on a tour of the slaughter house while they make it into meat and then on to the glue factory to see it's hooves made into glue. You can then sell the head onto the local mafia or mount it on the living room wall.
Then you can all sit down to a lovely meal together and discuss the day's educations.
