As long as I do exactly what God and Jesus say, I'll go to heaven, and if not, straight to hell?
So, I guess it's his way or the highway?
I'm just a slave in this world?

So, Jesus teaches me to follow the crowd, not to think for myself, and to not do what I want?

It's okay.
I think so, yeah is a very good way to end something.
But, if Adam and Eve didn't sin, I wouldn't be here.
So, yeah.

You are not a slave. And certainly not to this world. If you choose to be, you can be a child of God. Its your choice.

You have it all wrong. It doesn't work that way. Religions give you this picture that if you be a "good" person and obey all the rules, you'll get to heaven. But in reality, there is a very loving God that wants you to know Him. He tells us in the bible that we can never be good people. We will always hurt someone by sinning at some point in our lives. That's why Jesus came. He paid the price for our shortcomings, He opened a door between us and God. Now, we don't try to be "good people" who earn our way to heaven and try to show God we're good enough for Him. We accept Jesus into our hearts and get to know Him. Once you do this, you will understand that's it's all about love, not obeying the law. You will want to do these things naturally because all the law is, is loving others, doing to them what you would like done to you. So your focus is no longer on trying to "do as your told", it's on loving Him and loving others. Do you understand the difference? He's not a tyrant demanding submission to His ways. Really.

No it isn't that way, you've left out love, mercy, kindness, justice, forgiveness and acceptance. God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. God sent Jesus to die for you, there is alot more involved, than you are seeing right now. You are not a slave, God has given everyone a free will, you can do as you choose, He doesn't force Himself on anyone, the choices are yours.

Absolutly not. God gave us free will. Jesus said "The only way to the father is through me". So long as you admit that you are a sinner (not perfect), Jesus came to earth to die for us and then rose after dying, and accept Jesus into your heart as your savior. . .you'll go to heaven. Jesus also said "If you are ashamed of me, i'll be ashamed of you before my father."

You are NOT a slave in this world. Actually, life is quite freeing when you live in God's word.

Some of us are not opposed to the idea of being God's slave. And this particular slavery is 100% voluntary. God isn't forcing anyone to serve Him. However, those who choose to serve Him, the only service acceptable to Him will be serving with gladness of heart - and that's easy. I mean, among all the other gazillion perks He gives, the one thing I find the most amazing is how He gives divine ability to those who truly desire to serve Him.

To the person who doesn't know God, these things that He has commanded in His Word seem rigid. To those who know Him, these things set forth in the Word of God are beautiful to gaze into and highly desirable to do.

a slave in a negative way is where you have no choice in the matter. However you do have choices to make. It just benefits yourself even now when you choose God's way of living even if there was no heavenly reward afterwards.just think of the problems you avoid by not being a drunkard,homosexual,gambler,murderer,adulterer,thief,lazy,etc..the list goes on and on.The whole idea is to live your life in a way that is fulfilling and then get a prize of everlasting life at the end.How better can it get?

It's not so much doing what he says as much as it is BELIEVING that his way is higher, better, all that.

But it isnt his way or the highway, as you can stuff up as many times as you need to 'fall off his way and onto the highway, so to speak', but if you're genuinely sorry and apologise, God will 'pull you back on to his way'.

But it isnt slave like at all, in my opinion.
I believe that the bible is true, and in the bible, it says that everyone has a choice.

Adam and Eve had the choice to follow god or sin, and they sinned.

So, yeah.

haha. sorry. i didnt really know how to end it...

True religion uplifts the body mind and spirit. Christ only taught that there are certain pitfalls in life to be wary of, such as prostitution for example...i dont think there are too many "Happy" prostitues. In other words, i think religion is more of a guide book, that warns us that theres really only one way to happiness...instead of a death sentence...because there is no one on earth that is perfect in the eyes of God, and we learn from our mistakes, hopefully! To me the #1 rule is God is Love...period. That leaves no room for anything else.

Set aside afterlife which maybe really nothing. Focus on things in the real world where you can more or less confirm with the outcome.
