There's a few things you can do, but my first suggestion would be to see a dentist. It is possible that you have periodontal disease/gingivitis. He will help it from getting worse, give you a good cleaning, and good tips to correct the problem. Also, an infection can cause bad breath. He can find and treat that. Things you can do at home are:
Make sure you are using a good tooth brush. Change it at least every three months and use a medium or soft bristle.
Use Listerine (not scope as that only masks the breath, listerine cleanses)
Use a good toothpaste, not just something that tastes good or is used primarily for whitening. Try something with baking soda and peroxide.
Don't over brush. Brushing twice a day is ideal, but be sure you are not brushing for too long a time or too rigorously as you can wear the enamel away.

I have the perfect answer for your question cos I had the same problem and I went to a doctor (a general physician) and he said the reason is because you eat too much meat (all kinds of meat including chicken,sausages and meat slices),Fast food like chips that have chili on them and because you drink too much milk.He said that these 3 things are the main things that let the smell of your mouth and breath be so disgusting and the best and the easiest way to treat this it to:
Stop eating what I said above,wash your teeth from 1-2 times a day (preferable twice) and the most important thing that will give the greatest effect is eating a lot of fruits with all its kinds..
He said that if you do this everyday constantly without fogetting: in one month the problem will be solved,(if you keep doing that constanty everyday)..

Another cause of bad breath could be infected tonsils. Also, odor causing bacteria is sometimes trapped on the tongue. Brush your tongue as well when you are brushing your teeth. Keep breath mints on hand. I wish you luck with this common problem.

Sometimes it has nothing to do with the mouth itself, but more-so your digestive tract. Particularly if you eat a lot of red meat. Parsley, eaten regularly is known to help alleviate the problem.

it could be a more serious problem...try seeing a doctor and asking if it has anything to do with your digestive sytem. In the meantime, expose your mouth to lots of iron and oxygen. Drink water, eat celery,parsley. See if any of it helps!
