We had my sister and niece visiting us this week. We went to my parent's house for thanksgiving since most of our family lives two hours away from me and my boyfriend. We planned to spend the night at either my parent's house or my grandparent's house. Since there was a lot of confusion, no one knows who was staying where. My sister assumed we were at my grandparent's houe.
My sister forgot medicine for her daughter at me and my boyfriend's place. Since my sister's niece have really bad asthmas problem and my sister cannot get ahold of anyone. So she end up borrow my mom's car to drive to my house.
My sister went behind the house to break a large window and start to look for the light switches. So my boyfriend got scared and pulls a gun out.
From what my sister and boyfriend told me, my boyfriend went down and sneak up on her. My sister didn't even see or heard my boyfriend until he shine flash light in her face with a gun pointed at her face.
My boyfriend say she should've not

break in without at least call or knock.
My sister was already having a bad night and he made it worse. She says we should've stick to our original plan instead of coming home.
I and my sister agree my boyfriend should've not answered with a gun. My boyfriend keep say he's not taking a chance without gun and my sister have absolutely no common sense.
My sister also says he should have at least make it known he have gun before point it at someone.
Who's right?

You're sister's a piece of **** . there is no reason to break into someone's house. she should have gone to the hospital. if your bf wanted to give her access to the house she would have a key. He has every right to protect himself. To say that he's wrong because she needed to be in the house is Monday morning quarterbacking. She shouldn't have been in the house period. You must be very young to think your bf is not allowed to protect himself. he didn't know it was your ghetto sister he just knew someone broke into his home. And last it's his house if he wants to come home he has every right to.

Your husband is right, its his house and he thought that there was an intruder...hes not rong because he used the gun with caution he didnt just start shooting at her. She should have probably knocked and banged on the door first, I would have becasue I know peoples plans have changed. She should have called first as well...not just broke in to your house, I hope she is replacing the window as well. You should feel secure your man takes care of his family and doesnt just walk into a dangerious situation unarmed which could lead to his death. Its his house and he can do whatever he wants. She needs to chill out and apologize if she has been rude about it all.

Well if he wasn't expecting anyone and someone breaks the windows , I am not surprised he must have thought it was a burglar - and it was obviously dark ( use of flashlight). Anyone would have been scared and everyone reacts differently. The least he would have expected to smashed the window would be a family member! Sorry, your sister was wrong- she had an emergency yes, but she should have knocked the door or called beforehand.

You know your boyfriend is. Do you have a car? Was it parked in front of your house? Why did she feel she could break into the house? Were you not taught to knock? She should have known better. What do you think your brother in law would have done if your boy friend broke into their House, offer a cup of coffee? Doubt it.

I think your sister should have knocked first -- or, why wasn't she given a key to your place?
I don't blame your bf for what he did.
