a former muslim friend of mine confidently told me yesterday that prophet mohammed use to be a mob-leader in mecca in those days b4 he recieved a revelation to form islam. i personally think this is why muslims are voilent and aggressive tday. what do u think...

Hmm..
As far as I have learnt of Prophet Muhammad's history,
There is no such evidence which says that he was a mob-leader!
He was against his tribe who were idol worshippers. Therefore his tribe members considered him as an enemy.
And he had supporters during this time.
So I think... since he had followers and his tribe members wanted to get rid if him...
They probably branded him as a mob-leader or something.
You see.. to kill a person who has a high influence...
You have to first kill the "thought" and then the person.

"Idol worshipping is bad", that's the thought the tribe members wanted to kill....
And "Prophet Muhammed" was the person.
