most of these people are right, tattoos on the bottom of a foot is not a good idea. ink does not go in well or stay well and with all the walkin and stuff wouldn't get much of a chance to heal correctly. most artists won't do it (including myself - i hardly even like doing the top of the foot, even tho the ink stays much better than on the bottom, but most usually needs touching up nonetheless).

i've always thought it would be funny to get a tattoo on the sole of a foot that said "MADE IN--" and whatever country you were born. but that's just me

Professional tattoo artists will not tattoo the bottom of the foot. There are to many nerves, I don't know anyone who could even handle the pain. They will tattoo the top of the foot though. As for your friend if you can find a tattoo artist who will do a dry run (use a needle without ink) on the bottom of their foot, I'd let them try that, I'm sure your friend would not be able to even hold their foot still and it would be so pain full they wouldn't be able to take it.

Not a good idea. First of all to have it heal correctly they would be unable to wear shoes, socks or walk until the tattoo was completely healed. Even then the chances are VERY high it will fade fast because of the friction from walking and wearing shoes and socks. I also agree that if they need suggestions they aren't really ready to get a tattoo yet. They should seriously think about it for a while before doing it.

If a person wants someone to give them an idea of a tattoo, they shouldn't get it. don't put something on your body that you are going to regret later in life.

Also, I have tattoos on the whole entire top of my foot. Which hurt a bit...but they didn't heal as well as my other tattoos. The artist even warned me. She said that anything below your knee is an aggressive healer, which is going to cause more blood flow. A lot of artists won't even tattoo feet or hands because they are thicker skin and they don't take to ink well, they heal differently, fade quicker, are hard to do..and it's just annoying.

It might not be a good idea, since the foot has areas connected with all the body; she might get sick from a doing a tattoo there? it might be an idea to ask a physiotherapist first.

I don't think ANY tattooist would ever put a tat on the bottom of a foot. Think about all of thise nerve endings! A regular tat hurts like hell, I couldn't imagine what one on the bottom of a foot would feel like!

my friend wanted the bottom of her foot done aswell, but the tatoo guy said he would not do it because there are too many nerves there and that because you always sweat and walk the colors will rub off and even can cause an infection....
so im not sure it might just depend on the tattoo guy...but as for suggestions....maybe something tribal..i dunno imnot good at that stuff!
