I have 4 dogs. A female Lhasa Apso called Kim (4 years old), female Greyhound called June (1.8 yrs old), a male Bulldog called Tauras (6 years old) and a male Rottweiler called Harold (7 months old). I want to breed all of my dogs together because my friend once bred her Great Dane x German Shepherd and said it was fun so I want to try it too.
All my dogs are pure breed and do not have a disease. I want to breed the Greyhound with Rottweiler and Lhasa Apso with Bulldog.
I do not know anything about breeding and don't know what to do so can you tell me please?
Are they good breeding ages?
How much do I sell the pups for?
How do I create a new AKC recognised breed?
Should I breed?
Why? Why not?

My Lhasa Apso (Kim) has had a litter of 3 pups when she was 1.4 years old so she won't have any problems at all.

All my dogs have great temperaments and are good family dogs. I have never had any complaints about them barking ect.

Thanks for any feedback!!
From Elisabeth.

I want to breed because:

It will be heaps of fun.
I would like a bit of money for free nearly.
I want to create a new AKC recognised breed.
All my dogs have a good temperament (or atleast a rating of 0.5 or above).
My friend is daring me to do it.
My bit*hes are probably craving it (LOL).
It is hard to keep the males away from the females during the heat.

So yeah, they are good reasons!

Oh and guess what!!!
My Greyhound's dad was a show dog so I should get good Greyhound x Rotty puppies because they're grandpa has champion bloodlines!!!

My Bulldog once one 'Best in Breed' show title once so he has champion written all over him!!

I put my Rotty through agility and he does really well at it so he also, has champion written all over him.

My Lhasa is a pretty little angel and I would never make her go through hoops or try out in 'Best in breed' because Kim is my little princess and all the other Lhasa's are dumb, up themself and know nothing about beauty.

Like I said in your previous posting, you're a very cruel person to want and breed your dogs like this. I noticed that you didn't mention that you have already closed up your Lhasa and bulldog in a shed for 3 hours and that they have already tied a few times (you said in your previous posting that it would be her first pregnancy, and that she seemed really worn out due to being with the bulldog), and you also didn't mention how you killed off your poor little chihuahua by over breeding her(makes one wonder what you bred her with). Breeding small female dogs with larger/bulkier dogs is cruel, heartless, and just plain mean. Be honest with yourself, you don't really love your dogs, your just doing this on a bet. If you really want to breed for good temperament, then you should breed your dogs with the same purebred breed, not by mixing them. Heaps of fun my @ss, I agree with the other people, go to your local shelter and watch them euthanize a few puppies, oh yeah, you don't care about the shelter dogs because they aren't yours (they are there because of people like you). You don't deserve to have any kind of animal if this is how you treat them.

Best of Breed is the first step towards getting points. I've had so many BOB's! It's the Best in Show that matters. And for that you have to actually show for real. And it takes hundreds of years to create a new breed. The KC won't just up and make it in a few years.
Also don't expect to make money breeding dogs. It will only cost you money and a lot of heartache. I can't begin to tell the things you'll go through. From losing your bitches to losing puppies. It's not a fun road.
Edit: Ya losing bitches like you lost your Chi. Your just another heartless BYB aren't you? I should just delete the above answer and say what I truly think but I'm going to be nice for the sake of others on here. Let's just say I've seen urinals that I thought more of than you.

Well. I am an Aussi, so I shoot straight from the hip, lol!
I have been breeding mountain dogs, Saints, Bernese and now Leonbergers for more than 30 years.
You have a number of purebred dogs, by the sounds of things. If you really want to breed and can handle all the heartache and expense that goes with it. look to researching what you already have. 9 times out of 10, your average crossbred litter ends up in a pound/shelter and then ends up dead! Do you really want this?
Have you any idea of the expense and time it takes to rear a litter correctly?
My advice would be to contact the breed clubs for the various breeds you have. Do the hard yard, that responsible breeders do and please don't just look at $ signs, because in that case all you will be doing is adding to the number of unwanted puppies in shelters and adding to the already overloaded rescue groups.
Think hard before you go down this track and trust me, I hate to sound self righteous because there is nought more rewarding than raising a litter of pups than perhaps your own children.
And by the same token, would you see your own kids in a shelter and put down for a lack of a home?

There is no breed quality in what you are doing to your poor dogs. You are acting like a Mad Scientist in this sense, like the other girl said, if you want to breed for good temperament and as you said quality, then find a purebred dame or offer your males as studs to get those qualities. Every dog is different and not all have good temperaments (that's why you have to look around for these qualities). Don't try and create a new breed and hurt your females in the process. As for the AKC, they will not acknowledge the breeds that you are trying to produce, that takes many years, and they are not considered as breeds, only hybrids.

Totally ridiculous! Take a stroll through any shelter and look at the thousands of unwanted mutts. Someone like you, with no clue, wants to take some terrific breeds and create horrible messes! You obviously don't know the first thing about what's required to breed or look after a litter if you think you're going to make money.

Get these dogs spayed and neurtered. I'm particularly bothered that someone like you has a greyhound! That breeder was also irresponsible or you wouldn't have her!

I think Italian greyhounds are sweet dogs Chihuahua Dachshund Toy Fox Terrier Papillon(I believe u dont have to get these dogs cut but they have hair) those dogs all do well in warm weather and are very healthy and have little issues with grooming maintenance. Im not sure about cross breeds,I dont really believe the blind breeding process(i have had mutts but they came from the shelter I didnt buy someones crazy experiment).Plus there are so many mutts already at the pounds without the designer names...Go to your local shelter for a mix...I see tons of little medium sized dogs that are very cute.and if u live in hot weather im sure they have Chihuahuas of all sizes as they had so many when i volunteered at Arizona/Las Vegas shelters. yorkies need grooming(i have 2)and I have a toy poodle and she needs lots of grooming or I would suggest those breeds...pugs dont do well in warm weather and from over breeding have so many health issues,Shih Tzu's have hair...Im not getting why some dont follow the criteria?

If you breed your dogs, they won't become new recognised breeds, they will be mutts. There are so many dogs in shelters and rescues needing good homes, why would you want to create more?

You shouldn't breed them because none of the reasons you give are good enough, breeding for money/out of curiosity/for a dare, etc, is just not good enough, you would be a 'back yard breeder'.

This is ridiculous. These are living animals for God's sake! Nobody gives a crap how great your dogs are, if any of this is true, that is. You probably think Cockapoos & Schnoodles are real breeds. You best stick to playing Barbies & leave dogs to the real breeders.
Maybe I'll breed a Yorkie with a Newfoundland. LMAO!

The AKC does not recognize any cross-breeds. They exist to prevent people like you from wrecking good dog lines. There are millions of dogs in the world sitting in shelters, and being euthanized every minute and you want to breed mutts because your friend dared you and it would be fun?!! I swear most of the people on this forum have IQ's under 80...it just blows my mind!!
