You measure a TV diagonally from corner of the screen to opposite corner.

The dimensions of a TV screen actually tell you the size of the viewable area of the screen.

Usually in the case of tube TVs the size never matches up as the tube is curved & that eats upto 2" minimum.

Thats why flat screens are better coz they tell you what you pay for !

if someone says it's a 27 inch TV it is measured diagonally across the screen to 27 inches
