Some video cameras are also classed as digital amd perhaps that is what you are meaning. The difference is that the digital video camera uses digital as well as optical zooming, it will use optical zooming up to a point, then the digital takes over, this basically means the pictures are enhanced digitally as if you were zooming in, it works after a fashion, but the image does deteriorate and become blurred. Both can be downloaded to a computer as well as images from digital still cameras.

Hello,
OK! a video camera captures moving images (usually) onto video tape, video tape is a magnetic medium not unlike the kind of tape in an audio cassette. The big advantage is that VT can be loaded and unloaded in daylight but it requires special video editing equipment to edit the results into a smooth compiled film sequence.
A digital camera uses yes! you guessed a digital medium, instead of having a light sensitive film or magnetic tape. In the back of the digital camera is a light sensitive array of diodes, the diodes convert the light falling upon the array into digial impulses, ie. into zeros & ones which are then used to form the image you see on the small display at the back of the camera. (This applies to both still and moving types of digital camera).
Of course, a digital camera can either store the image data onto an internal hard disk drive or onto a memory card. The image data is later downloaded onto a computer and into special software for editing & manipulation or just for storing. Of course digital image files or MPEG (video files) can be copied onto CD or DVD or sent accross the internet which is not the case with video tape.
**Although video can be transferred into a digital format.

Video camera uses analog signals for record (generally on video tape)
In digital camera recording goes in digital format (digital signal - combinations of 0 and1). Quality much better than analog camera.
Analog video camera can be connected to PC just via capture card with video/audio inputs and transfer from camera to PC going in real time: transfer 1hr video will take 1hr..
Digital cameras have USB or Fire-Wire 1394 ports for PC connection. Speed of transfer video: 12 Mbps for USB1.1, 480 Mbps for USB2.0, 400 Mbps for port1394. Compare with CD size 700MB=~7000Mb

do you mean as in a normal video camera and a digital video camera?
if so.. i am pritty sureit would take alot of effort to put normal video from a video cam onto a laptop because it is not stored digitally on a cam.
Get a digital one anyway... quality is better and its normally quite simple to put onto a pc.
:)
If you mean a digital video and a digital photo camera... both can

you're able to circulate to Explorer and look interior the "My laptop" section and notice the digital camera while it extremely is attached on your laptop. then you definately can drag and drop the photos and video the place you choose for them. that's what I continually do, I on no account use the applying, i'm a insurrection that way! in the experience that your laptop isn't determining on up the digital camera, attempt plugging it right into a distinctive usb port. My usb units sometimes do no longer paintings and that i can circulate them to a distinctive port and that they paintings fin like they continually have. wish this facilitates!

they can both go into a pc/mac - mac is better for video manipulation, a traditional video camera stores on tape, a digital video camera has internal memory/card memory or records direct to DVD

YOU CAN GET A VIDEO CAMERA THAT IS DIGITAL, SIMILAR TO A DIGITAL CAMERA, BUT FOR MOVING PICTURES.
THEN YOU CAN LOAD IT TO A COMPUTER LIKE A DIGITAL CAMERA.
BUT IF YOU HAVE A REGULAR, TAPE BASED, VIDEO CAMERA, YOU HAVE TO CONVERT THE VIDEO TO DIGITAL IMAGES BEFORE YOU CAN TRANSFER IT TO THE COMPUTER.
