We found my little bandit! He was wearing a collar but no tags! He looks like a pure bred, even my vet says he looks pure bred! So my question is how can i find out? Are there blood tests, since we found him and didn't adopt him how can i be sure?!

He looks like a spaniel of some kind. I don't think there's any way to tell. Why does it matter?
Edit: Okay there's no way he's a purebred Papillon.

a million) it is an city legend that mutts are much less affliction-services then purebreds. If something, they're oftentimes greater affliction-services by defective lineages. it is because of the fact you could basically no longer anticipate any ailments in a mutt, the place as with a purebred, you be attentive to what they are going to in all probability get, that supplies the fake phantasm that mutts have much less ailments. additionally, with a mutt, there's a severe hazard it will receive each and every of the affliction of the two mum and dad, or maximum of them. it is totally uncommon a mutt gets carry of basically some or none of it is mum and dad ailments. apart from, maximum ailments latest particularly breeds are being bred out of the breed. 2) maximum purebreds have not got many well-being matters IF bred by a to blame breeder and IF taken care of suitable by their proprietors. BYB's can nonetheless breed purebreds, yet they regularly inbred them, and convey defective purebred after defective purebred. 3) do no longer have confidence the labels of shelters. it is not even humorous how many dogs are mis-categorized. as an occasion, maximum shelters label all cats with the tabby marking as Maincoon, while in fact, over 0.5 are short-haired family tabbies. i've got on no account heard of a look after that wisely categorized a dogs, and maximum will at once label a dogs as a mix, even no count number if that's purebred. 4)in spite of if the labels the place maximum outstanding (which I doubt) PB's are worth greater the mutts, and mutts are produced greater then PBs, meaning there are greater mutts then human beings desire. additionally, most of the sturdy breeders are extremly choosy on who get's their dogs. They wont enable somebody who'll abandon their dogs purchase one, and incredibly some have a coverage the place it is required to spay/neuter their bought dogs.

He looks like a Cavalier King Charles/Parson Russell mix to me,although he could have a smidgen of Papillon,but he isn't a purebred.It doesn't matter ,though,a dog is a dog.As long as it's loved ,that's all that matters.He's really cute,too!
Edit:Don't take Elizabeth Georgie M's advice. She hasn't a clue.Just read her Questions and see for yourself. There's no way that dog is bulldog/German shepherd.

What a sweetie! Only registered dogs can be called purebred, otherwise you have no way of knowing. I see Cavalier King Charles Spaniel maybe a hint of Chihuahua in the shape of the face.

I'd say a Phalene (drop-eared version of Papillon), mixed with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

I honestly don't know if there are any blood test out there to check for the pure blood status of a pet, but should it matter if he is a Pure Bred? As long as you love him, that is what should really matter.
BTW, he's a cute little guy. :D

***LMAO!!!!***
Your vet OBVIOUSLY doesn't know ANYTHING about dogs!!!!!
***THAT*** is a MUTT/MONGREL!!! Period.
NOTHING like a pap!
You've been watching TOO MUCH "CSI"!
DNA will ONLY prove or DIS-prove DIRECT parentage-IF the suspect parent profiles are ALREADY ON FILE!Otherwise,it will only determine that it IS a DOG!

The easiest way would be to take him/her to the vet. They would do a blood test an will be able to tell exactly what he/she is.
