Jello is made of gelatin, which is made of cattle bones or pig skins, before mixing with sugar, flavors, coloring, etc to form Jello.

The original jello was made from animal gelatine and it was called something else, but I can't remember. All, I know is that here in america, they guy was able to create jello-but he called it something else-sold the recipe in the early 40's I think and then it took off from there.
