...free will that 'god' gave them, to be the victims?
Did they choose which family members would die?

And if 'sin' or evil causes these tragedies, then how does 'god' justify punishing innocent people for it?

And please don't say no innocent people were lost. It's imbecilic to say that.

I don't know but praying to "god" never helps the situation but making donations to charities that try to find cures is the best way.

I grieve for the innocents that die everyday but some christians claim no one is innocent, " we are born into sin" which is imbecilic.

I don't know where God was when Katrina tried to blow away New Orleans but I know damn well there was a bunch of folks praying who got washed out to sea. Maybe God thinks we need these natural disasters to clean out the population when we begin to get too many people. I'm an Atheist and even I was praying. Hey any port in a storm. Luckily I was saved but then I'm a Christin Atheist. God bless kisses Betty.

Most natural disasters happen as a consequence of people destroying nature or building up unnatural environments that becomes dangerous when disasters happen; like through generations building up cities with big buildings etc. or destroying the climate and nature by exploit and misuse to the point where nature collapse.
So, I think that humans are more often responsible than God in these matter, even though there are examples in old scriptures of God sometimes using natural disasters as a warning or tool to bring people to change their way of living. (Old city in Egypt, Sodom etc)

If these people were innocent they must have been covered by the lamb of glory. I personally would not call Going to Heaven early that bad of a punishment. Also you don't understand the mercy of God completely until you have received it. Try it, unless you want to continue to be confused on this matter forever.

God Bless

I never cease to be amazed at how quickly people blame God for whatever goes wrong in their lives yet these same people all to often next to never want any thing to do with the Lord. I am mindful of what the Psalmist wrote many thousands of years ago when he said that all the nations that forget God will be turned into hell.

i believe in God, and here's the way i see it. if there were no suffering in the world, there would be no compassion, right? think about it. i do not believe god is trying to punish anyone, necessarily, but look at what it takes for anyone to see others - less fortunate, suffering people. what if the tsunami hadnt happened? or hurricane katrina? what then, everything would be good, huh? you wouldn't have too feel bad about the fact that your life is pretty damn great compared to any one of those people who are still this second living in this hell called "humanity".

That is basically the question the many athiests ask! Doesn't it make sense? Okay, about Lana, of course there were many animals dead, but many animals survived. And that is because they have the natural ability to sense when something feels out of place. That is because that place was their home. It is like you know something is out of place when you walk into you house if something is out of place right?

Probably God is still in the process of selecting who should go to Heaven which remain empty.

death brings life and understanding to the eyes of the living...i dunno, i think when people die it makes other people realize what's important in life. like the tsunami, basically the whole world took into affect to work together to help the people left. God chooses when people will die and how they will die it's just how it works. You have free will, but God makes the decision when your life will end and how. (this is how i think of it, just an opinion)
