I pace around or try to do something physical like walking. Light exercise sometimes helps too. I would like to see other answers because I too suffer from light anxiety.

Merry Christmas!

That happens to me sometimes. My doctor prescribed anti anxiety medicine but I wouldn't take it. I don't want to take anything that can be addictive. I had heard that vitamin B can help with anxiety so I started taking a B-Complex vitamin. I take one a day and I also take a regular multi vitamin sometime throughout the day but not at the same time that also has 100% of you daily B recommendation. I don't know if it's the vitamin or if it's a placebo effect and it's all in my head, but either way it has helped. Your body will flush out what it doesn't absorb as well. I hope you find something that helps. Good Luck!!!

I hope others DO answer this question!
Actually, I have Kids, so if I can get my focus off me and onto them, that usually helps! and my 6 yr old gives the best Hugs!!
Usually tho, just getting rid of the main source of it, (my estranged Husband) takes care of most of it.
Try finding something productive to focus on? a hobby? Something you can do like a craft, even for charity if it feels good to be helping someone else? Couldn't hurt!
Do you have any pets? I've heard (studies prove) that petting an animal reduces stress alot.
I sometimes write.Helps put things in perspective.
Play some music, (that can sooth a savage beast.)
Try some herbal tea, cut the salt & caffien intake?
or find a friend who understands.

Is free wheeling anxiety like speeding?

If you want it to be better... it will be better? Give me a break! Obviously it doesn't work if people want to kill themselves. Right?? Do you really think they haven't tried to make it work? In fact they've probably tried harder than most so-called sane people. The fact is: Most people are insane. Its the sane people that want to kill themselves so some idiot with an atom bomb strapped to his chest doesn't push the button or drive their car through their brain for a thrill. Even the laws are designed by criminals to protect criminals. The rest of us have to be educated in how to be a criminal just so we can protect our honesty.
Then there's ideas like: we'll feel so bad if you die... Likewise. I'm sure suicidal people feel bad too that's why they talk about suicide. Well what about the people who should be considerate and respectful human beings and would rather be greedy, murderous and suicidal with technology? Don't expect them to care cause you'll only end up being a victim if you do. And why should you have to pay for their insanity?
The solution seems to be to expect that wanting to comit suicide is a normal one considering the way people have screwed up the world with wars etc. Allow yourself to go nuts and do some really stupid things to get rid of the stress (as long as you don't hurt anyone) cause then you'll start to laugh about it and really tick off people off who are control freaks and love to put others down. Pretty soon you'll look forward to making their day for them and having a laugh too! Do the best you can in life and never feel ashamed of doing your best because you're certainly not lazy and that's worth being proud of.
The fact is that if you want to kill yourself like I do, its only because you are a decent person who cares a lot about other people and trying to be an outstanding person by being very responsible and caring. This is the most difficult part to accept. Sick people have a way of turning people like you and me, against ourselves. You should be turning against them instead because they are even sicker than you are.
And since you are a better person than those who would make you wish for suicide, let's face it, the hardships you are going through are here to teach you to love yourself better.
