Absolutely not. Each of us has our own perception of the Unknowable and we do not all need to have it interpreted for us. I go my own way also and I am very much comforted and empowered by my beliefs.

Peace!

That just all depends on where you want to end up. If you want everlasting life, you have to not only believe in God, but you have to be born again and have to accept Jesus as your saviour. It says it in the New Testament
John 3:16 and in Matthew.
Read and you will see. It also reads that those who are not born again cannot inherit the Kingdom of God.
Now, if you don't really care, then I guess it wont matter that I tell you that you could end up with eternal death in the lake of fire. I hope you won't want this and decide to be saved instead so you can have everlasting life.

I once read an email forward about people never taking time for God and there was a sentence in it that says "satan too believes in God"
This is something to think about.

Dear znz_zan,

It's kind of a tough question to answer the way that you've stated it. Because when you say is there something wrong with it- most people will emphasize the importance of your individual freedom and there is a strong sense where we can do what we want. God values our freedom.

However, i think the problem with just beliving in God without knowing Him is that what is the basis of what you believe? Does God have standards? How do we discern what is right/wrong- what is pleasing or displeasing to God. If it is not based on something concrete-- then there is a sense where you are playing God and the thing is God will not judge us based on our own standards or even on a curve (how moral we are compared to every one else). He judges us based on the standards He himself has set- which are found in the Bible.

The Bible does declare that Jesus is God and Jesus himself claims to be the way, the truth and the life- the only way to the Father (or the only way to a relationship with God).

It's hard to say there is something wrong with you believe- because it is viewed as being intolerant, etc. i can just tell you out of a sincere love and concern for your salvation the day you come face-to-face with God that you must consider the basis of your belief- and if it just based on yourself- it's dangerous because God will not judge everyone based on their personal opinions about Him- but about what He has shown us about Himself.

Hope that helps. Feel free to email me with any questions or thoughts you'd like to share.

Kindly,

Nickster

I don't think so. I think were the wrong or right comes in with how you use your belief.

There is a difference between having a religion(or church), and being Christan though. As I am a Christan, because I believe in God and Jesus Christ, giving up his life for me. My Religion is Catholicism, because that is the church I belong to. You don't need to belong to a Church to believe in God. Just make sure you follow the teachings of God, and live your life in a way he would be proud, but interpret them however you wish, so long as they are not in an evil way, though what is evil could make a large debate.

Its a very good thing that you are believing the God without entering into any narrow mentality.Everyone should be like you only.God is nothing but a suprem power who control all the activities happening on this world. He is omnipresent then how can we bound him in a small religion.Every religion saying that God is present everywhere in everything but at the same time its distinguish between peoples of other religion. No one is understanding that the God is one having different different name in different different religion. So please try to understand this sceret and dont fight between yourself.Live and lets other live happily.

No, don't let ANYBODY tell you that this is wrong! Just because you don't want to be put into a lump with other people in a religion, doesn't mean you are wrong! Your views are similar to an Agnostic, in that you believe or acknowledge that there is a God, but aren't exactly sure if this is correct or incorrect.

Simply put, whatever you believe in is correct.

There's nothing 'wrong' in that, in fact that is showing an Independence of mind and an ability to think for oneself without having to be told by texts or community leaders what you believe or 'should' believe. I think it is refreshingly honest to say you believe in some sort of undefinable higher being without having to conform to complex and (sometimes) conflicting social rules. How can you tell me that rules that applied to people who were 'wandering' in the desert over 2000 years ago are relevant as set in stone in the 21st century. Don't get me wrong religions have alot to teach us about how society works, but also fails us. To admit you can believe, but also be challenged is a far greater thing than solely 'hiding' behind religion!

Then I would strongly suggest that you read the "Essene Gospel of Peace of Jesus, the Christ" soon. You can download the entire text from the Internet after you Google it first.

The Scripture talks about the "Sevenfold Teachings" of the BROTHERHOOD OF ESSENES*--as taught by the Master Himself, Yeshua Messiah / Jesus Christ [PBUH] and Elders of the Brotherhood-- the same Brotherhood that His family belonged to and that He grew up with, prior to His public ministry outside their own separate communities.

I would consider these Sevenfold Teachings as THE "New YOU Religion", since it is one that is totally SELF-MOTIVATED, SELF-REGULATED, and SELF-MONITORED provided you follow The Law.

In it you are also taught Self-Baptism and you are not required to go to any church buildings or pay any tithes to anyone, among others.

Check it out for yourself. This MAY be THE PATH that you and many others with like minds seek...

Peace be with you.

P.S.

*Briefly, The Brotherhood of Essenes were a band of prophets, visionaries, seers and scribes since the time of Elijah, who separated themselves from the mainstream Jewish people and they lived in their separate communities. It was through them that the Messiah was prophesied and from when He arrived through the vessle, Mary.

The Essenes were the third largest sect of Jews at the time, with the Pharisees are the largest population, followed closely by the Sadducees.

You may either do your own research on them or, if you don't mind, you may also retrace some of my previous responses here in Y!A [click on my avatar] that relate to The Brotherhood...

Examine Yourself
[18:103] Say, "Shall I tell you who the worst losers are?

[18:104] "They are the ones whose works in this life are totally astray, but they think that they are doing good."

[18:105] Such are the ones who disbelieved in the revelations of their Lord and in meeting Him. Therefore, their works are in vain; on the Day of Resurrection, they have no weight.

[18:106] Their just requital is Hell, in return for their disbelief, and for mocking My revelations and My messengers.

[18:107] As for those who believe and lead a righteous life, they have deserved a blissful Paradise as their abode.

[18:108] Forever they abide therein; they will never want any other substitute.

The Quran: Everything We Need
[18:109] Say, "If the ocean were ink for the words of my Lord, the ocean would run out, before the words of my Lord run out, even if we double the ink supply."

[18:110] Say, "I am no more than a human like you, being inspired that your god is one god. Those who hope to meet their Lord shall work righteousness, and never worship any other god beside his Lord."

No, nothing is wrong with you not having a set frame of mind on religion. Just worship him as you feel necessary and don't let anyone criticize you for not attending services. The whole fact that you believe is what God asks for, and that you live your life as free from sin as possible... which is nearly impossible... :)
