The only thing you can do is ask if MSG is put into the food at restaurants and avoid the restaurants and ramen noodles

MSG's are in the flavor packets for the Ramen noodles, so you can try to find a substitute for those. since MSG's are used as a preservitive on buffets, some resturaunts will stop using them while you are there if you talk to the staff, but to maximize the benifits for all, you would need to go during peak times to have a higher turn-over rate for items on the buffet

Many people are al;lergic to MSG so it is just best then for you to avoid the substance which is used often especially in Chinese restaurants as a flavor enhancer.

I would suggest you check if you have a allergy to MSG. There are some people though rare, who do have reactions to MSG. Some are just hypochondriacs. Do you tomatoes or mushrooms? If you do and don't get sick , then it might not be the MSG as they both contain MSG.
