I am looking for a black, male Manx kitten. I am currently living in Detroit and would be willing to drive pretty much anywhere in lower Michigan or northern Ohio.

Hi Kristen...consider searching for your kitty on either Petfinder http://www.petfinder.com or Detroit Craigslist: http://detroit.craigslist.org/pet/ People post ads every minute on Craigslist daily so be sure to check back often.

Other Craigslist cities in/around Michigan: http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/mi The pet section is located in the Community section.

There are not that many Manx breeders in the United States. You may have to drive further than Michigan or Ohio, or if you are not willing to drive further you may have to pay to have a cat shipped to you.

Petfinder is a great tool if you are interested in adopting and I totally encourage you to do just that. There are many great cats out there that are looking for homes through shelters and other various ways. If you are looking at getting a kitten from a breeder I highly recommend that you choose someone reputable.

Sometimes it can be hard to decide if someone is a reputable breeder or if they are a back yard breeder. The best place to find reputable breeders is a place called the fanciers referral list. The web address is www.breedlist.com This website has all the cat breeds and has locations of CFA and TICA registered reputable catteries.
