If I were to get a nose job that reduced the size of my nose, would the skin covering the cartilage be tight enough not to wrinkle or look bad. And is the procedure used today in modern cosmetic surgery safe and scar-free?

Thank you (and please answer my question instead of telling me to be okay with myself or trying to get used to it, I'm not going through life with a big nose.)

If your skin has good elasticity, it should heal back just fine. They can now peform a closed rhinoplasty through the nostrals so ther is no external scarring. It depends on your individual case. If they do perform open rhinoplasty, the scar would be across the nasal septum between the nostrils. HTH : )

They will take off the excess skin so it won't be dangling. The surgery is scar free, the make the incision like on the bottom part of the middle of your nose (where the two nostrils meet) and it's like really small. It is safe if you get a good surgeon. you need to check out the surgeon really well so they don't mess your face up!

It'll be fine. As Guinea said, the skin is elastic -- of course, depends on your age ... but as long as you're not 80, which I doubt ... -- the skin should take new form around your smaller nose. Its like if you lose some weight, the skin shrinks along with your body.

you should find a board-certified plastic surgeon, make an appointment and have a consultation. i doubt there are many plastic surgeons here and even if there were, it wouldn't be a good idea for them to dispense medical advice without so much as a picture. good luck, though.

I don't see how your question can be answered accurately via the Internet. Make an appointment for a consultation!

You need to be asking a professional. Not a bunch of strangers.
