I believe it was made in the 80's. I tracked down an address out of Spokane, Washington. Stainless no S&W markings on Barrel. Four digit serial number on frame below Cylinder. Came with wood grips. Any Ammo limitations? Any problems with gun?

Bound's hubby here:

In the '70s and '80s it was common to have custom rebarreling of Smith & Wesson revolvers for non-factory offerings. If it is indeed chambered for .44 Special and a five shot cylinder it should be safe to shoot... after all you're looking at about a 20 year old revolver that I doubt someone would have built and not try to shoot it. If you keep your .44 Special loads at SAAMI specifications you should have no problem using this revolver.

If you can not contact the indentified manufacturer directly, you can do one of two things:
a) you can contact the Washington State Police at their headquaters to find out who recieved the manufacturer's license under the name "SPOKHANDGUNS, INC",
b) you can contact the NRA's "Dope Bag" with your question about the handgun and the will get back to you.

Good luck.

It could be a Charter Arms or Variant. But without more info it's hard too know exactly what you have. Remove the grips and see if you find a manufacturer mark or serial number. What Info did you use to track the Spokane address down? Are you sure the gun is built on an actual S&W K frame or is that just the generic size your referring to? I assume its a blue steel DA frame with full hammer, but is that correct? Feel free to contact me with the above info and pic if possible and I can answer you questions more accuratly.
