2.5% of Iraq's population has died...when? Maybe provide some follow-up statement and context for your quesion. I'm sure everyone will blame the US, it seems to be the cool thing to do lately. I will give you this, the US did light the fuse in that part of the world, but it was bound to happen eventually.

I believe there are several levels at which guilt can be laid here. On an individual level each person is responsible for the death he/she caused. After all, they did it correct? As a group I believe all three are also equally responsible for the deaths they have caused. Now as far as the US is concerned in all of this perhaps a better question would have been ...
"Who's responsible for creating this conflict which has resulted in the deaths of 650,000+ Iraqi civilians at the hands of US, insurgents, and religious sects?"
Lastly... I proudly support the US! I may not agree with why we're there, how things have went, and much more.... but I support the soldiers who are over there doing their jobs honorably!

The violence and civil war were inevitable. It was on only Hussein's heavy hand that kept the country from exploding earlier. Everyone in the world except the neocons knew this.
The blame is America's and Colin Powell warned Bush prior to the invasion. That was the meaning of his statement "if you break it, you own it". Well, Bush broke it and now we own it. That is the way the world sees it and that is the way it is.
That is the reason we need to turn this 'reconstruction' over to an international/regional group of countries and get out as soon as possible. As long as we are there, we will continue to be associated with all the death and destruction, even as it grows increasingly out of our hands.
There is nothing we can accomplish, there is no upside for America. It is time to cut out loses.

Not even the Iraqi president believes those numbers. Iraq has the population of California. It would be like San Francisco vanishing. The real number is closer to 130,000 over 3 1/2 years and it's everybody that died. That includes from combat, disease, old age, traffic accidents ect. The original number came from inexperienced poll people that went house to house asking how many people they knew died (which people promply lied) rather than doing a morgue tally.

Its the religion for sure. We aren't telling them to do the things they do to their own people. But as others in here said Sure Blame the us our troops etc. cause their the easiest to blame. Those of you that do blame the us for this remember your vote made it and your vote can change it. Dont cry now cause you believe now that you voted the wrong person into office. Suck it up and take responsibility for your decisions. For those that believe we should have left it alone I wish we could send you there to live in the horrifying conditions they lived in before and then the ones they live in now. then you choose which ones you like better. If you don't like the US then move. Its that simple. Don't forget those that give you the freedom to open your mouths and speak your peace. Support Our Troops! whether you support the war or not.

Have you heard of the pitiful struggle of Darfur and Chad peoples getting picked off for the last three years with bows & arrows against guerrilla warfare? Take a wild guess who's doing the slaughtering and invasion there.

The US is only 200 years old what caused the millions to die and the wars before us? Sure can't blame it on bush! It is religion! If it states in your religion to kill the infidel then who do you target THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! We stand for everything they hate and yet we blame ourselves for what there religion said to do to us! Its always Bush or The US. If its so bad here go live over there and maybe you will want someone to free you! I am sure we will decide against war and let you die under the hand of a dictator!

Those death are considered people who died that wouldn't have been dead if Salaam wasn't toppled. They are a result of all forms of violence. Including the disintegration of social structures leading to death by decease and thirst that wouldn't have occurred under Saddam.
