Brad, who is to say that there was only one son that coexisted. Or even better that he only came to Earth once?

God did not beget (father) any person. He is God therefore He is perfect. To call Him father would be to refer to him in a manly nature. He fashioned us and created us. We are His creation not his child.

The Creator did not necessarily create a Son
The Son and the Father always coexisted according to the Bible.
The names "Father" and "Son" does not mean a biological father and son where one created the other - its figurative
Us being God's children is a different relationship than the relationship between God the Father and God the Son
Edit ---
Who is to say? The Bible does, lol. please read, especially John chapter 1
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God"
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us, we have seen his glory..."

yes,
and contrary to some protestant teachings, he can have grandsons too.
the mormons teach that plural marriage is practiced by God as well.
it is also written that there is only one saviour but in the book of obadiah it is clearly written that there are Many Saviours on Mt Sion. Ok it is also written that Jesus Gives all of us the Power to become Sons of God. But in the resurrection we will become like the angels of God. These angels will become the greater Holy Sons of God and the Holy sons of God will become saviours and creators. For in the book of revelation Jesus promises to ALL THOSE that OVERCOME all things will inherit all thing and sit in His throne even as He overcame and sits in the Throne of God the FATHER. rev 3:21 and 21:7

Who says?
God's Word says: "his ONLY begotten Son" of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds (i.e., from Eternity).
In a sense all are His children "by creation" but also remember that when some claimed that they had Abraham as their "father" (i.e., ancestor), he told them they were of their father the Devil.
The good news is we can become God's children by adoption; by being "in Christ".
