"They made Him (the True God) jealous with strange gods; with abominations they provoked Him to anger. They sacrificed to demons who were not God, to gods whom they have not known, new gods who came lately, whom your fathers did not dread" (Deuteronomy 32:16,17) "They even sacrificed their sons and daughters to the demons, and shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was polluted with blood" (Psalm 106:37,38).
"Therefore concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and there is no God but one. For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but One God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we exist through Him. However not all men have this knowledge." (ICorinthians 8:4-7)
"Now I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God "(I Corinthians 10:20)
The first verse cited was written around 1500 BC; the second verse from the Psalms probably around 1000 BC and the latter verses are from the New Testament probably written around 60 AD; so I would say that no, the statement is not scripturally supported, but behind the so-called gods of the nations have always been deceiving demon spirits. They didn't "turn" that way when Christ was born.

No. Study the history of your one religion, for God's sake. There is no scripture at all saying that when Christ was born, all other gods turned to demons. I'm Jewish, thus by a member of the world's oldest, mono-theistic (One-God) religion. Our God is not a demon. In fact, our God is the father of your God, and Muslims too worship God under the TITLE, not name, Allah (from Arabic al, "the", and illah, (God), thus by, al-illah, or Allah, means "The God" ). Thus by, half the world is worshiping the same God, but in other forms. Now, as for your question, go on wikipedia (Wikipedia.org) and look up everything about Christianity. Hope you do well,

TTC: Actually, Anne Rice writes about Jesus now. The novels are just as emo as the vampire ones were.
And if there's only one god, it's probably the first one: Ra.

Why don't you ask the horned god? The horned god was the pagan god of nature, neither entirely benevolent or malevolent, who was (as the name suggests) usually portrayed as a beast with goat horns. Sounds familiar? That's because 19th century Christians turned it into the devil in an attempt to suppress paganism. Up until then, the devil was just portrayed as a fallen angel.

It is very true in the eyes of Christianity. Although Christians didn't start attacking other faiths until their numbers grew to a good level.

There is and has only been One God. Therefore the statement must be wrong. I have seen no such reference in New or Old testament

its true, they chose the gods of the wiccans to model satan after, pan basically. and it always happened in previous religions too, the gods of the new religion made the gods of the old religion into their devils. not that it matters much.
