I would imagine that it means...
...The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men...
there is temptation surrounding all men,
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness...
a good man protects and leads people away from sin
For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children...
a good man has the faith and will spread the faith to sinners
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you...
and anyone who knowingly tries to corrupt a good man will be stricken by the Lord...
Actually, it was written so long ago, no one really knows what was going on inside the authors head...we can only interpret what we think it means....that is why there are so many different belliefs.

I don't think I've ever read this before, but it sounds like Ezekiel is describing the man Job who was righteous yet beset by sufferings of all types including those of self-righteous friends who wanted Job to own up to causing his own dilemma, which he was not guilty of. Job was a caring man too who cared for those who were weaker. It was Satan who was out to test Job to weaken him, so God will eventually deal with him. Also, anyone falling into the deceptions of Satan by bringing down, poisoning and destroying others whether it is through pornography, illicit deals and schemes, drugs, addictions, etc. you can know that God will deal with you direct!

Do not make the mistake the Christians make dissecting the bible chapter and verse. The only reason they do this is to make the bible say whatever they want, Ask any reporter with the Enquirer, they are great at breaking down statements to make them say something else. The Bible is to be taken as a whole, not dissected. Read the whole thing through and listen to your minds explanation, not someone elses. And if you do not understand it, it is just not meant to be.

Pretty much the key to what Christians are supposed to be. I never saw anywhere in the bible where it said you can sh1t on people all week so long as you go to church on Sunday. Funny that that seems to be how most Christians practice their faith. Speaking as one myself.
