In my opinion, my teeth feel cleaner (smoother) when I brush with a toothbrush dippped in mouthwash, instead of if I were to use toothpaste. Does it make that much of a difference, or should I go back to toothpaste?

[ Also, I do use mouthwash as mouthwash once I'm done brushing. ]

Toothpaste has a lot of other things like flouride and other ingridients that are better for your teeth. You can brush with whatever you want (some people brush with baking soda and peroxide), its up to you about what you think will protect your teeth the best. Mouthwash isnt primarily used as a defense against problems, but its up to you if you want to take the risk.

Well, it's okay for every now and then but your teeth needs the flouride that the toothpaste provides as well as the tartar control...I think it's okay to substitute it when you run out of paste and since you use mouth wash anyway, just brush first and then do the mouthwash since it leaves your mouth feeling so much better....

The only thing that you absolutely need to brush your teeth is water, toothbrush and floss. Toothpaste just aids in the removal of plaque. The only thing that gets the teeth clean is the mechanical removal that you receive with toothbrush and floss. Think about it...does a hygenist use toothpaste with their instruments at the dental clinic?? If you place toothpaste on your teeth does the plaque majically disappear??
Use whatever you want as long as you use toothbrush and floss!!!

Hi,
You should go back to a toothpaste that contains fluoride. Then follow it with a mouthwash if you want to. Use a soft toothbush always! Do whatever you want to your teeth, after you use toothpaste. Good luck and keep up the good brushing!!

Mouthwash lacks flouride and abrasives that remove built up tartar. Mouthwash does not.

Try toothpast followed by mouthwash on your brush.

you should use toothpaste bc there are special cleaning ingredients that help clean and keep your teeth healthy. Most mouth washs fight bad breath, gum disease.. etc and do not promote good health for teeth. make sure to floss too.. otherwise u will get cavities between the teeth and those suck.

You should use both baking soda and toothpaste. The baking soda is missing the fluoride that will help with protecting your teeth from cavities and tarter build up.

tho the mouthwash will give you fresh breath, it will not clean your teeth...mouthwash does not have floride in it, so use thee toothpaste, then the mouthwash

Yes it does make a difference. Tooth paste has abrasives in it that help clean stains off your teeth and it also has other things in it to help prevent tooth decay
