When we were younger we were told 'Do Not Bob Out Your Tongue' because it's rude.
Why is it rude?

It is the child equivalent of get stuffed. If someone pokes there tongue they are basically disrespecting you. Usually a quick slap under the jaw will end that habit.

What does "bob out your tongue" mean. In England to bob is to do something totally different, and you don't use your tongue for it either.

When I was 13, I had me mum totally a*rsed up at me, and she stuck out her tongue. I said HOW rude.
She replied consider how rude you have been.
We both had a bit of a laugh.
She was great. Died way too early!!

bobbing???? Don't you mean sticking out, well that is what we English who speak the English language call it. It is rude. It is a grimace to other people and not very nice thing to do.

Well it's a clown-type gesture, and it sure is ugly. It's also something you do when something is kind of gross, or you don't like it. So you're saying that whoever it is makes you feel sick, sort of.
How do YOU feel if someone puts out their tongue at you? It's such a childish, ugly gesture.
