Why do immigrants get housed before homeless english people with children?

Because they come over here with no support. Council housing is issued on a priority basis, but to get high on the list you have to BE homeless. Most uk council house seekers have family or friends who will put them up for a while, but whilst they are doing this they ARE NOT TREATED AS HOMELESS. Its only when the friend says, 'I'm asking you to leave' that they get up on the list.

Legal Immigrants, and refugees go into hostels (which many english people try to avoid), and so immediately go onto a priority list. A skilled legal immigrant (East European for instance) will rapidly get a job, and not being on benefits enables them to go quickly from Hostel or Temporary housing to a local housing association property, (who dont want DSS), so it looks like theyve been given a leg up

I wonder how many of you guys that don't know the difference between immigrant and illegal actually work.
It is always the guy that complains about housing etc.
truth is the immigrant is working to pay taxes so that you can claim benefits.
A legal immigrant must prove that they can look after themselves when they enter the country, they also get a stamp in their passport saying that they do not qualify for any form of benefit.
The Portsmouth News advertised 40,000 jobs in one edition a while ago... There are 2900 people registered unemployed.
In fact the city of Portsmouth, Southampton and all areas in between, only have 13000 unemployed claiments.
I rest my case.

Immigrants dont get housed first. Its refugees that get housing first. Immigrants are people that come here to work and pay their tazes like everyone else without claiming benefits.

There is a difference between immigrants and refugees.

when immigrants come here they have no place to stay . if they are not given homes then there gonna be living in the streets.nobody in the UK has to be homeless unless they choose to be . i pay more than 800 pounds in taxes every month. the question is why when we need to build houses hospitals and schools we are giving our tax money to corrupt dictators and making bombs to create wars when we need it most here.if we stopped supporting corrupt dictators and create less wars then there would be less asylum seekers and immigrants coming to the UK.

BECAUSE IF THEY DIDNT HOUSE THEM THEY WOULD SAY WE ARE RACIALIST,AND THE DO GOODER LEFTIES S*** THEMSELVES.
I SAY THAT IF THESE IMMIGRANTS COME HERE THEY SHOULD HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO SUPPORT THEMSELVES OR GET SENT BACK.
