What is hard about understaning that a God is Jealous is WHY a god would ever need to be jealous.

If you read in the bible God is not even consistent with God. Genesis God walks around like a man, and has to look in the bushes to find Adam and Eve. Exodus God needs to hide in a burning bush or a pillar of smoke. Later we get a God who sees all, knows all and is everywhere at the same time. God is imaginary.

Maybe you need to define what Jealous is, the bible shows there can be a productive type of jealousy, and of course the rotten side of it. But you missed the point of it anyway.

Because in those days when the bible was being written, People over time had false worship and had made up many gods. Even Romans considered their kings the Cesar's, as Gods also. regarding Jesus he is a mighty god. he has / given divine power over angels and humans. But he is not almighty God. Which is why Jesus sits at his Fathers right hand. Yeah its a status thing.

In the first place jealousy is not a need. No one needs to be jealous. God is jealous of one of his Children worshiping a false God. What is so hard to understand about that? People are jealous if their sweetheart loves another person. They don't need to be jealous. It's not a need It's a condition. I see no reason to believe God couldn't be jealous. He himself says I am a jealous God. Why would you find it nonsense that a God could be jealous? God loves all mankind so I don't find it at all strange that God would be jealous if someone didn't love him. Of course that's why I am an Atheist to make God jealous. But not to worry I am a Christin Atheist. God bless kisses Betty.

God is a god of infinite love... but He is a God that hates, is jealous, and gets angry..... But there is no contradiction. God hates with a pure hatred - a hatred founded in deep love. God is a jealous God - a jealousy founded in pure love.

It is hard for us to understand but here is a little earthly example:

A person who was visiting in the hospital happened to watch a mother come into the room where her sick child lay. The child was asleep and the mother just stood at the foot of the bed. Suddenly the man saw this tremendous anger, this rage fill this mother's eyes and face. Was the mother angry at the daughter? No, the mother was angry at the cancer that was robbing her girl of life.... If the mother could have, she would have ripped that cancer right out of her little girl's body....

The mother had an anger based on love....likewise God's anger is directed at what destroys his creation - sin. It is a fierce and holy anger. He hates sin with a pure hatred. He is jealous over His children and his kingdom with a pure jealousy, etc. It is because He loves us so much that He hates sin so much!

Once there was a well known philosopher and scholar who devoted himself to the study of Zen for many years. On the day that he finally attained enlightenment, he took all of his books out into the yard, and burned them all.
