I drink a cup of chamomile tea..convenience stores usually have it or the version called sleepy-time tea.
but, as you need sleep now..re live a nice day..remember a day that is not too exciting, but very pleasant, such as a mother's day or a picnic..and relive it in detail..such as, that day" I got up and started the coffee, brushed my teeth and had a leisurely cup of coffee before packing for the picnic..and on and on..all the little boring details...
I am a retired nurse, and that is what we were told to teach the restless patients...class taught by the sleep disorder unit..It works..

I feel your pain, I had a problem with insomnia. There are a couple things you can do. You can soak in a bath to relax you, you can listen to meditational music, you can get ear plugs and put them in your ears, or you can go to the store and get Tylenol PM which helps you fall asleep. I use ear plugs whenever I am staying somewhere where there is noise or people talking.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Pick up Melatonin 3 mg...Sam's Club has a good formula. Take it about an hour before bed. You feel it kick in and then you'll sleep like a baby.

Catch-up on some reading, do some Sukudo puzzles or listen to soft music. These always work for me. When your mind is too tired, it will go to auto shut down.

A dose of NyQuil or Tylenol PM might do the trick.
