An Orthodontist.. is a specialist for Braces, only.
Most General Dentist, can take them out... He'll take an x'ray to confirm its something he can do. If he cant, he'll refer you to an Oral Surgeon, in your area.

You want to see your orthodontist (if you already have one, otherwise go to your regular dentist), so they can take a look and decide how to best proceed for your mouth. If they think they should come out they will recommend an oral surgeon or dentist that does these procedures. If you would like to be sedated during the process you will probably need to see an oral surgeon as regular dentists are usually not licensed for heavy sedation. But it all depends on what the ortho thinks and how complicated they think the extractions will be. Some are easy, some not so much. Your orthodontist should steer you in the right direction though, and refer you to someone who is well qualified for your situation. Good luck! And as a sidenote, if you smoke cigarettes, DO NOT do so after the extraction, you do not want dry sockets (bad infections), I learned this the hard way. :-)

A regular dentist WILL NOT take out your wisdom teeth. They will refer you to an oral surgeon to do it. And an orthodontist straightens your teeth with braces.
And also if your wisdom teeth are impacted your health insurance pays for it because its considered a medical expense, which is good because sometimes dental insurance covers nothing but cleanings and xrays.

Hi,
The first thing you need to do is to make an appointment with your general dentist. Then your dentist will refer you to the correct doctor best for the job of pulling out your wisdom teeth. Your general dentist is the head guy, all other doctors will work with him to give you the best dental care!! call asap. good luck

i would recommend seeing an orthodontist as i had braces and the orthodontist referred my to the correct specialist. It is not cheap to have you wisdom teeth removed and you will be in quite a bit of pain for a week.

Wisdom teeth are third molars. They are
as useful as other tooth,if they grow in
properly.But,when they are prevented
from erupting into the mouth properly, they
are referred to as impacted. Erupted wisdom
teeth may need to be removed. Detail informations

Your family dentist or your orthdontist can tell you if you need your wisdom teeth pulled. If you do, they will tell you to see an oral surgeon. They might even recommend one to you.

Call a normal dentist office. All they do is pull it out, you dont need any special professional, just the local dentist office and it wont take long. Lol, you make it sound so complicated. Peace out. L8Rz. Luv/Kodi

I would think your regular dentist could take care of it, but your dad is right in that your orthodontist could tell you if he could take care of it or if you need to go somewhere else.
