Wash hair with shampoo first and then use a really good conditioner, like Pantene Pro-V. Then with a wide toothed comb slowly comb out hair while it's still wet starting from the bottom of the hair and working your way up until you can comb through it all from top of head to bottom.

Shampoo and conditioner should be part of your daily hair care routine if you're prone to knots.

Shampoo & condition - Get some detangler - you work it into the hair and brush or comb through. I have really fine hair that tangles and I use Bio Silk detangler by Farouk - it is good

I wash it every other day
Use a wig brush (gentle on the hair) or a very wide tooth comb and start at the bottom of the hair and work up combing or brushing the knots out as you go. Don't start up near the scalp and pull the comb down through the hair. Short strokes

Air dry do not use a hair dryer

Stop rushing, slow down, and take care of your hair! If you know you're gonna be laying around in bed for a couple of days put a silk wrap or scarf around your head first of all. Next take a medium teeth comb and take the time to comb out your hair real good. Use a detangling shampoo before you keep throwing loads of conditioner in your hair. Yes soft hair is nice, but you need the detangler to get to the "root" of your problem. :) Good products to try are Paul Mitchell, Matrix Essentials/Biolage and Nexxus to name a few. Now I must warn you, these can only be bought from a beauty supply store;not a grocery store. So you will pay more than you will for Pantene and the like. But they will work wonders for your hair. After shampooing and conditioning, use a good mousse of your choice for body and shine. Blowdry or add heat only as needed.

first use a detangling spray when you get out of the shower before your hair dries and a leave in conditioner and if you really want to a frizz free hair serum but that's not necessary if you put in the leave in conditioner and if you dry your hair naturally don't wash your hair at night before you go to sleep or it will get knotted its also best to let your hair dry in a pony tail you shouldn't get any knots if you do that but if you ever do take the knotted hair spray it with leave in conditioner and use your hands and take little pieces out of the knot when you have a little left take the knot and pull it out it is too painful to brush the knot out

trust me on this one i have gotten knots in my hair before

Hope this helps

Use a very good conditioner. I have very thick long hair and I use a heavy conditioner after shampooing. I also put a leave-in-conditioner in my hair before blow drying and that tends to help a lot.
