like when it's silent because people are praying, and someone lets a loud one rip. How do you not laugh? How do you know run away from the smell/?

If someone passes gas in the House of God then obviously it must be considered a most Holy inspired odor and sniffed by the faithful with the utmost religious fervor and evangelical zeal.

I would laugh. I bet Jesus laughed once in a while when He was washing someones feet and they let one rip. I mean there are some things that you just can't ignore. Then I would hope it wasn't an older member of the congregation because we all know that old people farts smell the worst.

Well, I'd laugh forsure! We are still human, despite the opinion that is rapidly becoming popular (you know the mindless, brainless robot brainwashed herd of cattle thing...thanks)
I would laugh and then take a big breath of clean air as fast as I could. I would hold my breath until I had to and then hopefully by the time I had to draw my next breath, It would be past me. I REALLY hate that smell!

You sit there like a mature adult and contain yourself. It can be difficult, but the best thing to do is contain yourself, even though we all know that everyone else there has a sense of humor, and everyone else who realizes what just happened will also want to burst out laughing.

Here in the south, it is totally acceptable to spontaneously shout "Oh Jesus". it is a polite way to either say "watch out" or "man what did you eat?"
