The size difference between a pool table and a snooker table has already been addressed, 4 1/2 X 9ft. and 6 X 12 ft. respectively. The biggest differences, other than size, are the pocket openings and the cushion height. Pool tables have angled corners on the pockets and snooker tables are rounded. Also, since snooker balls are smaller (2 1/16"), like the pockets themselves, the cushions are shorter to accommodate that. The cloth is also different between the two tables. Full size snooker tables, often have 8 legs, where pool tables usually have 4 and sometimes 6. I'm sure there are other differences, but these are the most prominent. M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

I've had it pretty good on both Jadal. The pool table has larger balls and pockets while the playing field is smaller. There are several sizes of pool tables and two sizes of snooker. Any pool table is considered "official" size if it is twice as long as it is wide, same goes for the two sizes of snooker tables which are 5'x10' (American) and 6'x12' (English). Hope this helps. Oh yeah, common sizes of pool tables are 4.5'x9', 4'x8' and 3.5'x7'. The games are entirely different. You'll have to look up the various games as it would take me too long to explain on here. I will say that snooker is a point game where you keep track of your numeric score.

Snooker tables are larger than pool tables, and the game snooker is played with more balls (21 + cue) than regular pool - the traditional numered balls used in pool are not used

okay, everyone will answer differences like bumper height, size, pocket size etc. Just for your info 6x12 is European Snooker table and 5x10 is american Snooker table and 41/2x9 is a standard pool table. Cloth on most Snooker table is faster as well ie Simonis 660 vs Simonis 860 for pool tables.

Snooker is a cue sport that is played on a large (12 feet × 6 feet) baize-covered table with pockets in each of the four corners and in the middle of each of the long side cushions. It is played using a cue, one white ball (the cue ball), 15 red balls (worth 1 point each) and 6 balls of different colours (worth 2-7 points each). A player (or team) wins a frame (individual game) of snooker by scoring more points than the opponent(s), using the cue ball to pot the balls in the manner described below. A match consists of a previously agreed-upon number of frames. Snooker is particularly popular in English-speaking and Commonwealth countries, and the Far East.

A snooker table has bumpers that you have to use for your shots. A pool table doesn't. Pool, in my opinion, is much more fun.
