You are looking in the wrong place and in the wrong persons. Christ the Lord is the only real Love you will ever find. People and society will always be dissapointing to us. But it wouldn't be such a disapointment or a surprise if you didn't expect it from everyone else. And the reason you will not find it around the holidays, especially around the holidays is because it is all in vain what people do for others. Out of a feeling of obligation. And these holidays that we celebrate aren't biblical anyway. Just continue to give love where God leads you and you will be used by God to break down barriers.

I would suggest its because people are looking for contentment in all the wrong places. True contentment comes from within a person and is not achieved by the gaining of material possessions as they offer only temporary pleasure. Often the things we place our values on are not the things that really matter at all.

i think that is our main goal in life: finding love and joy in this crazi world! since this is in religion, i'm gonna assume it relates to religion...but i'm sorri if it isn't and ur about to waist ur time reading...but if it is...feel free to read on! :]]
i believe that once you are truly saved and can feel God's full forgiveness then you will find your love and joy and happiness...besides the unconditional love that God gives you, you can pray and get Him to guide you to find a man/woman who is perfect for you and will give you the love and joy you need...as long as you put God 1st, nothing can go wrong...without him, not much will go right! Good luck on finding what you are looking for! I'll be praying for ya! :]]

People look in the wrong directions. It would appear to me instead of focusing on negatives or things to distance people you should think of things that bridge some things in matters. Unfortunately there will always be people out of ignorance, stupid, or some form of hatred that will find somethings to make barriers instead of gates. You shouldn't let their negativity bring you down and you yourself should be an example for people to bring about, if every slowly, change.

I know... it's hard not be be negative, we're conditioned with all sorts of reactions to the world and humanity.
I won't let go just yet... first... I have to change the world. Then! I'll be able to not be negative. Hah, right. But I guess I believe it.

You are right! Love and joy are there, but a lot of people can't see them. Rent the movie"The Bishop's Wife" and see why.

Maybe you need more of a fellowship with Church members? You know, like minded people. They can really help even out the psyche slaughter.

Because religion by its own definition instigates secularism which causes friction and eventually hatred.
