its a sad thing to see people have so many issues with immigrants wake up people. remember Terry Shrivo the government did'nt do anything to save her and she was white and paid taxes and all that good stuff. instead of talking about shooting people why dont we try to think of a solution to the problem! like make people legal so that they can pay taxes too i mean it seems like a good solution since all everyone complains about is money.

You ask a very interesting question. Because there is a whole nother continent south of the border and south of the equator.
A lot of the disenfranchised from all these poor states are making the trip to El Norte. The same issues and doomsday naysayers were chiming in during the great Irish immigration of the nineteenth century. And also during the Italian immigration.
This land was built by immigrants who followed the work.
Some were not so lucky to have a choice as to where or when they left home and did not even have to worry about passage.
I work in the freight transportation industry. There is a 200,000 driver shortfall. The mystique of the lone cool hardbitten trucker holds no charm for the current crop of emerging young americans looking for work.
Just like the Chinese immigrant were hired to build the railroads, the South American immigrant will fill the shortfall of this age.
Unless we make a serious attempt to leave his resources in his land and not exploit them in El Norte. To show him how to make the best uses of those resources to maximize return on capital investment.

I'd be just as angry at a German, Asian, Middle Eastern or Mexican ILLEGAL Alien, because the common denominator is "ILLEGAL".

If an IMMIGRANT wants to pay taxes, I'm all for it. Yes, we have jobs! Yes, we like people working. Yes, let's get more people here LEGALLY.

BUT... in order for that immigrant to PAY taxes, or receive benefits, get a job, or go to college, they MUST ENTER LEGALLY and receive a SS#. A SS# is not a right.

And each group has their issues with how they assimmilate into America, but I think what you're seeing, JustMe, are the common examples that seem to be consistent with what Mexican immigrants do.

They skip out on hospital bills.
They cause a hit and run and find solace in Mexico.
US Marshalls can't even arrest a murderer if they are Mexican and return to Mexico. No extraditions. If you REALLY want to talk about injustice, how about if someone killed a Mexican in Mexico, and ran to America to avoid getting busted? Let's just both agree that this kind of scenario is bull$#!t, for both sides.

You honestly can't tell me that you don't see a very serious double standard when it comes to the immigration issue, but whenever someone tries to bring up a discussion, you know what we get to discuss?

According to the PEW hispanic research center the majority of illegals from mexico do not even care about amnesty. The ones that are working under the table are happy not paying taxes and the employers i am sure are happy that way too because they do not have to pay taxes on the employee. Part of the 'amnesty plan" would be to make employees pay back taxes and a naturalization processing fee which i am sure many will out and out refuse to pay. Also according to the PEW hispanic research center the majority of illegals from south of the border do not want to assimilate. They do not want to learn English, or buy auto insurance or anything even close to acting civic responsible way. It is amnesty or the thought of amnesty that is creating a bigger problem in illegal aliens. Not one single attempt at amnesty has worked and the framers of the last one some twenty years ago have openly stated that they were wrong, and that amnesty should not have happened because it was bad for America. Not everyone complains about money as you have stated, I am concerned about the moral decay that goes hand in hand with illegals or any other criminal group that tries to turn it's self into a special interest group. The laws should apply to all equally. We should not lower the bar for those who do not care about America or it's well being.

No it's ALL immigrants. The USA needs to reduce the NUMBER of immigrants coming into the USA. We cannot sustain 800,000 immigrants annually. Add those to the population already here each year, subtract the deaths and we will still have such a high population that our infrastructure will collapse. Our natural resources will be depleted, roads won't be maintained, schools won't be able to take everyone, there won't be enough hospitals, housing, development will encroach upon our farmlands and our forests. Our forests won't replenish as fast as they're being depleted. It's already happening in California. The entire USA is headed that way if we don't reduce immigration back to 200,000 people per year.

Immigrants come from everywhere. If you are talking about 'illegal' immigrants. Making illegal people 'legal' is NOT the solution to help third world poverty. They need to go back to their countries and work at making it better THERE. Coming to the USA won't help Mexico or any other third world country. But it will DRAIN the USA of what it has. What good could the USA do ANY country if IT became just another third world country? None. Would it help the third world country? No. Would it help the USA? No. So why should the USA destroy itself to offer immigrants in large numbers to come here when it won't help those countries and it WILL hurt the USA? It makes no sense to allow so many to immigrate here. It's like pouring water into a bottomless pit, it never fills up and you're just throwing your water down the drain. We must take care of the USA and remain capable of sustaining the population we have, not add more to it.

Juan - Your analogy of the mosquitos is very applicable to the illegal (and legal) immigration issue. We will be sucked dry of all our natural resources and tax paid services. Our country will go into a downward spiral that we won't be able to stop. Our country will be another third world nation, sick, dirty, poor and unable to care for all its population.

It is illegal immigrants everyone is mad at. There are more illegal immigrants from Mexico than from all of the other countries put together.

The reason immigration of poor people is limited to begin with is that they CAN'T make enough money to pay enough in taxes to cover costs of education of their own children, much less to cover the other benefits poor people and their families use. We subsidize those services for OUR poor, but are not issuing an invitation to the poor of the world to come overstrain our schools and hospitals at our expense.

If they can't make enough money, they can't pay enough taxes. WE pay the rest. Also, if legal, they could bring in more indigent family, including parents, and be eligible for social security which most of US won't get simply because we are not as poor as they are, even though we have been paying into the system all of our lives.

All of the data is on the web, look up costs of illegal immigration. And make sure you pay attention to schools, the biggest impact in ruining our own children's futures, and the biggest cost to taxpayers. The social security 'suspense fund' of ss $ paid by illegals that can't be collected is MINUTE next to the funds paid out at the local level.

Their better life is at our expense, which is why we, like every other country in the world, limit immigration of poor people.

However, I agree we shouldn't shoot them.

a. Hispanic immigrants- especially Mexican immigrants and immigrants that pass through Mexico- ARE the largest problems. This is why the first thing that comes to many people's minds after hearing the term "illegal" is a Mexican guy hopping across the border with his pregnant wife. We should not grant them amnesty, as most have done nothing to earn it and adapt to our nation and its laws, culture, customs, etc.
b. The entire Terri Schiavo case is debatable. From seeing her on TV, she did seem brain dead and in a vegetative state. I, personally, would not want to live that way. I can see why her husband would want to move on, and I can also see why her parents would want her to be kept alive. Now, you should NOT be able to starve a sick person to death, and she should have been given to the parents that wanted her. If I was put in charge of that entire issue:
1. I'd have nulled her marriage to Michael and abolished all of his legal rights to her.
2. I'd have given custody and all legal rights to her parents, although they would not be able to go to him and demand financial assistance by saying "You're her husband!". The issue would have then been over.

I don't know there are just as many middle eastern people and the issues found objectionable are more easily resolved than the legality of them being here . I think the govt just likes to stretch out and complicate these issues to forestall working for a living.

Illegal Immigration is a very real problem in the USA now and it is destroying much opportunity and quality of life in the US for many mostly middle class Americans.
It is not only Mexicans but others as well, however 80% of current illegals in US now are Mexican.
In many areas of the US ...nearly half the population is Mexican immigrant (80% of which are illegal). This skews many things both economically and politically.
We can't offer amnesty to these criminal illegals and expect America to ever be the same. It isn't right for any reason what so ever and will only cause many more problems. Most of the illegals don't give a hoot about being Americans. They are here for $$$$$ and as much of a free ride as they can get generally in many different ways. Bear a anchor baby and then the child can be an American down the road if he/she chooses. No real committment by them but a huge one by America.
Many say they pay taxes and get nothing for it. But do they pay for insurance for their car, for their family health care, for the education their children get (much of which is done in Spanish).
What do the illegals really contribute? They take jobs and work for less than an American. They do this cuz they will live like hobo's 20 to a house and this trashes our neighborhoods. They don't care. They won't be here tommorrow. But someone else from Mexico will take their place. They compete for our products and services with the rest of us as well. Gas, food, housing, space in the classroom, parking, space and on the highway and these are the simple things. Then you can discuss the welfare fraud, the political fraud and manipulation, the rising cost of auto insurance due to their uninsured driving and accidents and damages, our payments to house covicted felons in jails, 40% of which are Hispanic. Some illegals, some amnestied, some first or ? generation.
Our hospitals are being put out of biz cuz of the non payment of medical expenses and the mandate that the hospitals must treat regardless of payment or lack there of. The rest of us end up either not having a hospital convenient when we need it or having to pay through the nose when we do because we must, as citizens pay or file for bankruptcy. Legal costs and losses. They list in nearly endless of damage these illegals do.
Sure the pay taxes they don't get credit for when they do so using false/conterfeit documents. This extra money only serves to encourage the pork barreling politicians who use that money to serve their own purposes, to look the otherway and allow the illegals to continue to come into country. In oh, so many ways, the illegal and criminal nature of illegals destroys our culture, fiber and the foundation of what America used to be.
Imagine a little mosquito biting and sucking a tiny drop of blood from your body. NO biggy really. It itches a bit but you live on. Now imagine 20 thousand mosquitos, biting and getting a drop of blood each. The whole body is sucked dry, withers under the attack and loss of huge amounts of blood and is laid open to infection and attack of many other opportunistic parasites (terrorism and ?).
America is infested with illegal, invader type parasites that give very little back to the average American. The competition, the loss of opportunity, the end of fairness, law and order and political balance all serve to waste America into a dominated and ruined culture and country. All this is done to line the pockets of a few wealthy manufacturers that are rich beyond most imagining anyway. America is near collapse friends. We need to send the Mexicans (and others like them) home. If we don't, we will end up with a country that looks like and functions like Mexico. Then it will be Canada's turn. Will Canada be as stupid as the USA and let desperate, poverty stricken, uneducated, diseased and criminal/drug pusing Mexicans simply walk across the border and take over their country too?
It's time to reverse things and send the Mexican illegals back home to Mexico. If they want to come to the USA, they can get in line like all others who come here legally, make the committment and come here legally. There really is no functional other choice. There are a few problems with your theory. For one if you legalize one then your going to have a worse problem then we already do.
For that matter why don't we throw all our laws away. Laws are laws for a reason.
Number two when people legally migrate to a country. They have to undergo a battery of tests. To make sure they don't have contiguous serious disease which can be passed on to other people just as Tubercles.
Illegals are not getting these tests done putting all Americans they come in contact with at risk.
AS I said before laws are laws for a reason rules are rules for a reason.

There isn't a single person (besides the native-Americans) who doesn't have some immigrant blood in them. We would all be hypocrites to not allow any immigrants the chance at the American dream.
